Talking Have a few exhaust questions for evreyone!

Hey again, I was a member several years ago and got carried away with mustang stuff since i own one and not an rx7. However, my father owns a nice 85 GSL.

After 26 years of driving with a stock 100hp 12A, he finally is having a fully built 13B installed done by some guy in Charlotte. I believe the exhaust setup consists of racing beat headers and catback system. He should be making 200+rwhp.

Does anyone have any sound-clips of a similar setup? Just really curious to what its going to sound like!

If anyone cares ill eventually be posting pictures when the build is all done, but in all seriousness this rx7 will be brand new. It was 100% stock for 26 years, and will still be stock with the exception of under the hood. Still has the original stickers and cassette player! Not to brag too much but it's probably one of the best kept 7's here.

What does "fully built" mean? You just looking for sound clips of a Racing Beat exhaust system? He won't be making 200 WHP with an RB exhaust, I can tell you that much.

I don't know, maybe with the long primary system and a peripheral port he might break 200, but I kinda doubt it if it's NA.

Its gona sound deep on low end but once it gets up there its gonna scream. I had a six port with injectors street port and we ported the exhaust with some help from a drill press a dremel and hours of polishing. Stupid exhaust channel thingy. The car boasted about 210 of course with a micro

Where in Charlotte are you? I'm up in Huntersville by Lake Norman. Theres a cars
and coffee at the Northlake Mall at Paneras the 1st Saturday of the month and
theres also a Rx7 meet up in Mooresville on th e2nd Sunday of the month at the
burger king.

Not sure how the engine is being built so can't say if it will break 200 or not. Even if
it doesn't it will be more than enough for the car as light as it is.

Were actually north of Raleigh.

I don't know too many details, but from my understanding this guy exclusively builds rotary race applications for cars, raceboats, and hydroplanes. I think he's being doing it for like over 20 years or something. I do know the engine is going to be N/A and is being built from the ground up with new seals, housing, rotors etc... Car should have full racing beat exhaust, new intake (holly kit i think), new webber carb setup, and engine will be ported.

The car has been in the shop for over a month and we think the car should be finished before august. But anyone have any videos? I've looked on youtube and all the FB videos are really low quality.

You will probably have around 160whp with the setup you are talking about.

Well if your dad ever needs some help or wants to hang with some older rotary
guys tell him to PM me on here. I also go down to the OGTA meets in Atlanta
sometimes for some rotary fub as well. Plus its a nice 3 hours cruise.

Haha ok. He doesn't have an account on here, but I know I've told him plenty of times about the site. You should just send me a message of some Rx7 meets/events going on around august if you could! We would be happy to show off the 85 FB with her new engine And of course see the other rx7's!

^just check in the SE section. there's the I77 & I40 crossroads meet in mooresville, nc on the 2nd sunday of each month, and the Old Guys with 12a's meet in suwanee, ga on the 1st tuesday of each month.

BTW, here's a in car vid of how mine sounds. specs in sig. it's the streetport system minus the dual presilencers. i don't have one from outside the car. it is a bit louder without the presilencers.

this one is after getting the engine in the car and running. then it had the complete RB streetport exhaust system consisting of road race header, dual presilencers and power pulse main muffler.
