A few questions for the experts.

Maybe someone can help me out with a coupe of questions in regards to me '80sa.

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...b580c215e3.jpgIs this relay on the right for the AC? Near the left strut tower.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...4453d4d8c9.jpgI found this aluminum channel holding my drivers seat in place.

I think my seat might be from another vehicle because the seat anchor won't reach to the original anchor point. I don't see any modifications to the seat rack/frame.

Pictures of the seat in question? All 1st-gen seats have the same mounting locations.

Someone else will have to answer your relay question, mine is long gone.

Yes, the forward / inside relay next to the strut tower should be the A/C relay. Pic from the 79 Service Highlight Bulletin. Your seats are probably not original to the car. Stock seat rails mount directly to that piece the aluminum is bolted to. Looks like an adaptor to mount the seat with.

Yep, one closest to the strut tower is the AC relay. The other relay controls among
other things the idiot lights you see when you turn the key on before starting the car.
Its called the check and start relay or something like that.

79 will be slightly different that an 80 due to different ignition, points on 79, electronic
on 80.

Thanks for the quick response, I appreciate the info. It sounds like I can toss most those relays if I'm doing an engine swap.

The seat thing is bizzare. I plan on looking into more later on. I pulled the drive seat for the first time this weekend and it surprised me. My seat frame is unmodified that's why I think it's from another vehicle. The upholstery I'd different between the two seat also.

Is it common to see damaged threads for the seat? My passenger seat had a bolt come out rough and took some threads with it and I notice one of my driver seat bolt holes are stripped. Not the greatest thing to have happen but I'm sure I'll find a way to fix it.

I had this happen to me on my passenger seat front bolt on the transmission tunnel. It had corroded under there over the years and I snapped the bolt clean off. Ended up having to drill and tap a new, bigger bolt there instead. Works pretty well now though!
