Fb is future classic in May Classic Motorsports issue
Pick up the May issue of Classic Motorsports, the Fb is named as one of the top 10 future classic along with:
1988-'91 M3 1990''97 Miata 1984-'94 Testarossa 1983-'84 Rabbit GTI 1975-'85 308 GTB/GTS 1997-'01 Integra Type R 1978-'89 911 SC and Carrera 1995 Mustang Cobra R 1980-'81 TR8 Car investments have proven to be more reliable than stocks, especially in times of recession. Recent auction results support this and there is no flood of people unloading their collector cars either! |

I saw that and I think they missed the boat on what models are the most collectible.
IMHO I think the SA, in particular the special editions will the be the most collectible. The GSL-SE was nice but it doesn't have the real gritty feel of a sports car like the SAs. Of course I'm biased. Its nice to see some props finally for the RX7 tho. |

gee whiz, guess my car lacks true grit  http://www.cinemaretro.com/uploads/WAYNE2.jpg |
That makes me wanna pick up an NA miata even more. Ahh someday I'm going to have a dedicated CSP racer miata. Either that or an SSM with a 13B :)

Collector cars ....
It was for the whole range of 1st gen incl SAs.
I think that for non rotorheads the distinction between Limited Editions and the SA is lost and hence has little impact on market values. The best that can be said for this article is that at least the idea of the future collectability of Sa/Fb has penetrated the mainstream. I was also referring to the higher end of collector cars which generally don't use Craigslist as a venue. These people generally are mortgage free. In fact it should be common sense that you should have no personal debt before doing any kind of investing. |
Should I trade my DD Integra for a DD Miata? That way I can be a Mazda fanboi to the core :D
I can see the first gen cars being worth more than the second gens. While the first gens have a distinct style, the FC is sort of 'just another 80s' sports coupe, albeit the best one :) |
