Price seems high for a GS no matter how clean. But maybe that's good news.

He mentioned that he's hoping to sell it to Mazda... maybe they'll keep it if they don't get the price they want after the trip.

I'm dying at the thought these YouTubers are going to even raise Mazda's eyebrow.

wow... I just watched a 15 min advertisement for a GS. And feel free to cruise in the left lane down some salty winter roads.

Gotta hand it to em, its a unique way to advertise a car. GLWS!

my friend bought an 85 just like that, except not as nice, and we were told Mazda might be interested. apparently Mazda has a broken 79 and a museum worthy GSL-SE, and they would like something in the middle that they could let people drive.

it seems really far fetched, but its a neat story.

I watched all 3 videos last night, intrigued. I have to admit that after looking in the engine bay shots and seeing that blue air filter, I got a twinge of something. It brought back a lot of memories of trying to get the carb running right on my 80LS and that car never feeling like it was getting consistent power around corners, much less proper fuel mileage. The body looks nice, it's an attractive color, and the interior is second to none - that dash is perfect, and the darker door panels and seats actually go well for the mileage. As a 12a driver, it would be a fun car to own, but being stock - and really holding value being stock - means that it would only ever be a one-trick pony for me. My -SE will have to do, as I'm unwilling to dive into maintaining a 12a car at this point in my garage career.

I hope they find that Mazda has an interest in a clean FB that they can add to their collection. As the years move on, it will be nearly impossible to find cars in this condition for nostalgia,

Agreed, there are fewer and fewer 1st generation RX-7's out there that are in original unmodified condition. So many were made and could be bought cheaply for the last 20 years that many have been modified in some crude way, raced, chopped, wrecked, rusted, and parted that a small percentage of unmodified examples remain today.
