Engine Install Pics

2 Attachment(s)
I was feeling pretty depressed about life in general the past week...so I decided to go out and spend some time working on the car this weekend. Getting this damn engine installed last night after more than a year was a big boost towards inner happiness. I only hope the damn thing starts....

Still have to finish up installing the new fuel pump and figure out what engine management to use....

Just thought I'd share some pics...

Nothing like bending wrenches for inner happiness and a since of accomplishment!

It's a mishmash of different parts. It started out as an SE but the housings I've been told are from both an S4 and S5. It'll be interesting to tune. I have the EGI intake and RB header all ready to bold on but I've decided not to use the stock SE ECU - and I'm leaning towards a haltech. At this point I'm just rolling the dice, taking guesses and crossing my fingers that I'll be able to driver her one day.

My greatest battle getting the engine in (by myself) was dealing with the stock heat shields that block easy access to the passenger bolt for the transmission cross-member mount. frigg'n thing...

beer helps.

remove the heatshield before installing the trans. i learned that the hard way myself. you'll never get the the crossmember bolt otherwise..without bending the heatshield..which is not adviseable
