Beautiful!

I thought it was a crappy car, but really only reason its cool is because its stupid fast. but that should be expected with a v8 swap. Im just surprised about how many people actually like it.

I respect a teenager building it, we where all teenagers once, just think he could put a little more effort into making it look clean.

RAZRBAKK 02-11-13 07:21 PM

I absolutely LOVE it. I just wish he had kept it rotary. That thing is BADASS.

I think the point is that it looks like a piece of shit.

Its a cool car but I wouldn't want to daily drive it.

Two thumbs up :icon_tup::icon_tup:

It was at SevenStock last year. Very interesting build - - pretty much an "art car" in a lot of ways. Intentionally planned out to look like something made from scraps. The owner's a very sharp guy; definitely knows what he wants and likes.

Bingo! Seemed perfect to me. Just watched it on the big screen.

Videos like that one make me want to find a spare 7 chassis and do something similar. I find these types of builds very inspirational. A lot of builds where the owner just doesn't care about what anyone thinks tend to be my favourite. Every car should be built to please the person who is going to own and drive it first and foremost or else whats the point?

He is a member on here and he does have a build thread

I'm usually a V8 hater, but I like this car for some reason.

DivinDriver 02-14-13 09:05 PM

I took a bunch of pix of it at SevenStock last year; they're in this album:

i enjoyed the video. put a smile on my face actually. =)

i remember when the thread started, and while watching the video i remembered the original build thread once they showed the pins on the hatch struts because it's something i've actually been contemplating as a temp fix. i was wondering what happened to this car and how much the kid was flamed for putting a v8 in a first gen on the original thread then i lost track of it. I like the "finished" product, i do get the point of it being an "art" project, it does indeed reflect his personality as well, but with that said he atleast could have made a few things "neater" such as the gauges, or atleast put the oil cooler mounted to the front bumper where it looks a bit better than right on the cowl pannel...but it's not my car, if you take the wooden lip, the tach off and move the oil cooler to the front of the bumper....it would be badass.....

Freaking awesome. I remember this car at 7stock. I also got to park my car next to divin driver.it was an honor!

I just saw that it is on EBay with a $10k buy it now.

EBay link

Will be interesting to see if it sells.

wthdidusay82 02-22-13 02:42 PM

Why build it then just sell it? Smh

Saddest part is it dynoed only 320whp, I was expecting at least 400whp.

love it. love it. love it.

DivinDriver 02-23-13 11:38 AM

In the e-bay auction, he says he's got no need to sell it other than to get money for a next project.

IMHO, he's unlikely to get anything like what he wants for it. I could be wrong, but he's built a one-of-a-kind that only really has "meaning" as a reflection of the builder - - anyone else just buying it & then bringing it to a show or a meet would be kinda senseless, as they couldn't really explain the 'why' of it.

This kind of car gets its context from the personality of the builder.

I wish him luck with his sale and his projects, though. He's a creative guy.

wthdidusay82 02-23-13 09:39 PM

What's the sense in doing a project just to sell it and do another?

Rotary >Pistons

DivinDriver 02-23-13 11:35 PM

For some people, it's all in the doing.

Isn't that what a project is? Something to keep you occupied and creative for a while - then you should move on to learn something new and exciting in a different project?

I do agree that it is definitely a piece of work, and I like that he doesn't care about what other people will think. Scarily, we are the same age. When he talks about the hours and time invested in his car I can't help but compare myself to him in a few regards, but have to distance myself from thinking along those lines. He has his priorities and I have mine - as everyone does in their own lives.

I wish him the best, and if he is able to sell the car I hope he invests the money into another project (rotary or not) that he is able to put his artistic talents to use.

wthdidusay82 02-24-13 12:47 AM

A project to me is something you work on that you plan on keeping, not something you work on and put a ton of money into just to look cool and get attention.

I know a guy that's had 3 240sx's and never even finished them , put all kinds of work into them posted pics on facebook, even had a rb26det and a rb20det for them and just sold everything without even finishing the work.

Now he's into dirt bikes , always fixing them up and buying new ones , selling thecold ones--because apparently the one he has is never enough , even after putting thousands into it.

He even had a bmx bike he put $2000 into and rode it like 4 times then sold it for $900.

Seems like an attention thing if you're taking a big cash loss everytime, its certainly not logical from a financial standpoint.

Sure working on stuff is fun, you can always keep working on what you have and make it nicer. Just my 2 cents
