Dash and Console lid restoration company
 

I see a lot of threads in the classifieds of people looking for a good used dash or console lid.
This CA company "Just Dashes" does excellent work and I have had one of my own dashes (66 GTO) done by them. It came back like NOS/Factory.

So, why pay for something that doesn't look quite right or is old and will eventually crack etc.. when you can have your original dash redone to like new quality.

They also do other interior parts such as glove boxed, console lids, door panels etc...

Hope this helps those of you who have panels/dashes that are in need of repair.

I don't need them at this point, but that's a great reference to have handy!

How long of a turn around time did it take to get your dash back? Was it plusher than stock? Reason I ask is I've just heard people saying that after being done it was a tad poofier making it more of a snug fit. But I don't know how true that is.

My experience was a good one.
I had a dash recovered for a 66 Pontiac GTO and it was a few years ago.
So, I could not tell you about a RX7 dash.
At the time, I thought it looked like a NOS dash when it came back. It was really rough shape when I sent it to them too.
Hard and cracked vinyl, the foam underneath was shot and crumbled to the touch etc...
When it came back it was like new. Granted it was black color but color and texture was spot on. Fit like stock.
I did not notice any fit problems or other problems. No trimming, just installed it.
They sent me back the same dash I sent them, so I did not expect any fit problems.
I thought they did an excellent job and at the time, the muscle car dashes were in about the same situation as the RX7 dashes are now - i.e. 30 + years old, cracking discolored etc...

I was going to send them some 68 Firebird door panels that were molded and good ones were very hard to find at the time. So, I know they do good work on molded door panels also.

Ok thanks I really would like to get the dash in my 70 olds rallye 350 redone because its bowing in the middle, aswell as my 80 LS, it has had a dash cap on it since I got it so I don't know what it really looks like, but I really don't like the look of the plastic caps. I didn't see any prices on there web site I wonder how much it would cost to do a 79-83 dash?

I think you probably would be happy with their work especially for your Olds, but its been so long ago that they did mine, I am sure the prices have changed,
I'd give them a call though.

I'm with P7, I'd be curious to know if anybody has ever had an S2 dash done by this company. It looks to me that just the upper section could be done, which should reduce shipping and, hopefully, production costs. And do they paint it?

If so, got pics? How did it come out? Got pics? A big challenge for those of us with the "maroon" interiors is matching that interior color, which isn't really maroon, it's more of a blood red. I've tried the maroon Duplicolor vinyl paint and it's not even close, I'll give the SEM a try but I don't think it will do it either. It would be nice to avoid the trouble and expense of doing a custom paint mix, but I'm thinking that may be the only way to get the real red interior.

Ray, did you watch the video on the website? I think it would be worth a phone call to get more details.
