Cutting Header Panel
 

I seen someone on here do this and I am going to do something similar. I just need ideas for my mold.

So please if you got pictures of it done post them.

If you have pictures of the backside of the header panel I would love to see this too (even if not cut) so I can get an idea of how it connects for my mold.


If I did something tasteful do you think someone would want to emulate it?

My plan is to have cups that are seen inside or tubed venting. It wont go far back, but enough to look better than a gaping hole.

Correct, that is the header panel.

No, that's a "Panel, Nose."

Of which, interestingly enough, there are four separate versions of, just within the SA's.

& the back side of which can be seen by laying on the ground and looking up through the grille.

Thats interesting, never knew of any differences, especially within SAs.

I believe Dream is still currently deployed and so is not able to look at his own car i.e. the request for pics.

This is an interesting concept though, Perhaps a few small vents like the REOS hoods and then create a set of ducts behind them to collect into flexible tubing which leads to the next question, how much room is behind it to do something like that? I don't have any pictures on hand of an SA/FB without bumpers/panels so I dunno if it's simply radiator space or if there is frame which might block it.

It's quite empty up there, all the way to the radiator/AC condenser.

I don't have any "full" pics of the area, but you can see a bit in these, showing the engine bay with everything removed, including the rad and mounts: It's hollow all the way from the tubular crossmember all the way out to the bumper mounts. There's a cable harness that runs across the crossmember, but that's about it.

The bottom of the nose panel has a couple fore-to-aft reinforcing doublers on the underside. Otherwise, empty space all the way back to the rad.

thank you for the pictures. That is exactly what I mean. It is correct that I am not near my car so researching is a pita. As of now, I don't know which direction I am going with the car and if I leave it stock on the outside I will definitely do this. At one point I thought about putting the radiator right up against the bottom vents but then though it was a bad idea later on.
