Custom Shift Knobs

Hey all!
I didn't know where to post this since the product isn't really available en mass yet, and this is more just a testing the waters type thing. Anyways, I am a mech eng student and one of my good friends is a CNC specialist so we whipped up a custom shift knob for my 85 GSL which looks like this:

Anyways, we wanted to know if there were some people interested in buying some? We can make them for any series car and I also have a 6 speed design as well (for anyone with RX-8 or 6 speed trans). They are made of aluminum and are 1.865in in diameter. Please let us know what you think! Also feel free to move this post to vendors if that is where it belongs!
Peace

How much would they cost?

Currently were looking at about 40-50 cdn + shipping. We can also modify the design of the shifter knob which would effect the cost.

That is awesome, I'd be interested in one potentially.

I'm a mechanical engineering student as well. Where are you studying?

Concordia University (in Montreal). Just finished an internship at CAE Inc. i will need to figure out some stuff with my friend (the one who does the machining) until we could actually take orders. Glad to hear you guys like them though!

Just remember IF you intend to sell specific custom manufactured parts on here you must apply for VENDOR Status.
That entails FEES to be paid to INTERNETBRANDS (the owners of this Forum).
The info can be found by hitting a link on the Bottom of the Homepage.(Contact Us.)

*(nice stuff by the way so I wouldn't be surprised if they take off like hot cakes!)

Oh and you can't advertise in the Vendors section unless you are a Vendor.

Oh perfect. Thanks for the info, didn't know about that! I will keep you all posted. Most likely no information until after the holidays.

I'd be interested. How much do they weigh compared to say the stock knob? I like weighted shift knobs, they feel nice with short shifters :3

I am interested as well.

Hey all! They are currently aluminum and about 150g which is pretty light. We like the light feel but if there is enough demand for heavy as well we could run off some stainless shifters as well. I am about to inquire with the forum about becoming a vendor and will keep this thread up to date on the status. We are planning on running a low volume batch of 50 ish in both M12x1.5 and M10x1.25 threading meaning it will fit any gen rx7. Happy holidays everyone!

Not bad looking at all. Would add a nice custom touch to the interior.

Hey everyone! We are approaching the point of being able to accept sales but the rx7club vendor fees are a bit steep for us since we are just starting out. I don't want to be kicked from the forum so I don't believe we can do any advertising here for the moment. So if you want to get into contact with us plz send me a pm and I'll give ou the appropriate info! Also if I have violated any rules of the forum by posting this let me know and delete what was in violation! Thanks all!

Would be interested in one, but could you change the shift number design to have the gear number inside the rotor?

I don't think I'm allowed to talk about the product without vendor status. Please pm me for more info and we'll figure something out :)
