Cleaning up the white/grey cloth seats

I just pulled some grey seats out of a parts car that are in good condition aside from some light tannish staining. I'm trying to figure out the best way to clean them up. I first got some Blue Magic Stain Lifter but I'm unimpressed with the results. It might be good at getting major spot stains out, but these just really need a good cleaning I think.

So I tried some Gain liquid laundry detergent, and that's had the best results so far. I poured a little in a wet cloth and gently scrubbed the seat to work up a lather. Then I used a wet cloth to wipe it down and a dry towel to dry it. It's looking better, but I'm still not content enough to put them in my car.

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning the cloth seats? Particularly the light grey ones. I'm even considering trying a little bleach to bring the brightness back to the fabric. Bad idea or not?

Update: Suave 2-in-1 shampoo is working out pretty good. Yeah, the stuff you put in your hair. Lather, rinse, repeat! It lifts stains better than the Blue Magic stuff, which is kinda sad. And my seats smell purdy.

lol, smells good it is good!

if you still need something better round 2 is one of those carpet shampooers, you know the vacuum cleaner with the hot water tank.

round 3 would be to pull the covers off the seat and toss em in the washing machine

try "folex" carpet cleaner. comes in a white spray bottle and you spray it on, and wipe (rub vigorously) gets grease and oil out of seats!

Yep, now my seats smell good and are dandruff free. I don't think I'll go for round 2 or 3... 1 is getting them clean enough. The fabric is kinda worn in spots anyway so there's only so much I can do. I might try that folex stuff though, thanks.
