You either put it back to stock every two years to smog it, or "know someone" that can smog it.

Either way you're driving an illegal car most of the time.

the carb stuff is a little tricky to get past smog, but if you're running EFI, all it needs is a cat, air pump and ACV.

ive had a bunch of cars that get the stock exhaust, go get smogged, and then the RB stuff goes back on an hour later. i've also heard about people who have the stock engine and the modded engine and swap that every two years.

oh and before you move out, find someone with the stock smog stuff that they were going to throw out, its actually worth something here, and you'll need it.

Yep or if you live in a very rural county you don't have to smog. Only at change of ownership. I mean counties like Plumas, Alpine, Mineral, Siskiyou, Modoc, Amador, etc. I am going to do registration thru my friend's place in Siskiyou County where I never have to smog again. Take that, Al Gore.

oh if you go to the CA DMV website, then they have a map of where how they smog stuff. you need to either keep your NY reg, or register somewhere where they either do the dyno smog, or none at all.

the dyno smog is easy, but the stationary idle test is HARD.
