Now I'm trying to figure out whether they are Epsilons or Southern Ways (made by Weds?) They are both very identical except I hear Epsilons do not have the SW stamp. Also I wonder if two of them are two piece and the other two are three piece because two have the 21 offset stamped and the other two do not. Also the ones with the stamped offset has the width stamped also. I'll take off the old rubber soon and find out. Hopefully these pictures will help others as well as answer my question because I've been looking at so many pictures and they don't seem to have enough detail to tell. Look closely to see the 7 stamped width and also you can see the 110 stamped for the pcd. The numbers in the circles seem to be months/years so all my wheels are made in 1981 and the months vary slightly.

Also I need to repair and refinish the wheels. Any color suggestions? Leave it the way it is? I'll definitely keep everyone updated on these rare wheels. :)

Damn that's hot

No fan of the "+" wheels - so BIG improvement!!! Nice they are a "period" wheel, too.

Thanks for the compliments! I am 90% sure they are Epsilons from staring at Carl's old Eps and wacky's Eps.

I will let ya know tonite.

82transam 06-17-09 11:55 AM

Whichever ones they are they look great, as 7aull said they are "period correct" for the car and match nicely. I say keep them black with a polished lip.

yea seems like i'll fix the lips for now and refinish them later. touch up the chip though. we'll see when i take it to the wheel repair shop this weekend.

Read from a VW forum:

These are made by Southern Ways of Japan originally. Later on they changed the company name to Epsilon. Most of the people in here won't know about them since they're Japanese wheels. Parts for them are fairly easy to find on the Club4ag or Dimequarterly.

again thanks for all the compliments guys! looking forward to hearing from you wacky as well as providing more updates!

woo hoo! post 1,000!!!! :)

thunkrd 06-18-09 03:45 AM

I had to double check with my eps. no "SW" marks in my sets so those are Southern Ways

Those are pure sex dude! nice!

orion84gsl 07-04-09 12:58 AM

Those boys did a great job especially considering how damaged they were. They will look great with fresh black paint and tires.

twinkletoes 07-04-09 08:11 PM

Very nice dude! I need to find a place in town that polishes wheels with good service. If you don't mind, how much did you pay?

thunkrd 07-04-09 08:26 PM

100$ each, is that a normal amount?

Thats probably right since they had some bends and dings. I'm looking for a place that will just polish the lips, and i'm thinking around $50-75 should be a good price. I just can't find a place in Vegas. :dunno:

boyee 07-04-09 10:03 PM

add $25 per wheel if i had tires on it to be remounted. i'll definitely be taking in my other cars with curb rash to him in the future for his fast, friendly and quality services. of course i'll haggle with him for pricing too ;P

better pics to come but let me know what you guys think. was it worth the $$$? unfortunately i think one wheel has a leak. i am monitoring the air pressure and going to take it back to fix again if it is indeed leaking so i am not taking any chances now and swapped back my original wheel

stay tuned!

jshiz 07-08-09 11:18 PM

It looks good.

OT. It looks like someone tried to jack up your car in the wrong spot.
