WINTER! so lets see some winter RX-7 pics! i guess we have a chance of having a white christmas after all. either way my FB suffers in the snow while i have my 63 Falcon in the garage and out of storage. only a few more things to do before i store the 63 and put the 7 back in the garage.. for now though:

Do you have the 'Vette and the Porsche in the garage??

I pay an extra fee at my apartment to keep my one and only baby out of the shitty WI winters. She sleeps in an underground heated garage from December to February...Mwahahahahahahah!!!!

yeah the Corvette is in the garage. next to it is my 1963 Ford Falcon. i'm doing some minor things to it currently to bring it back to a nice sunday cruiser. the Porsche is across town in my mom's garage. this leaves my 85 GS to sit outside as well as my 84 GSL-SE restoration project. the SE is however tarped well and its sealed properly.

on a side note, after going through some test procedures, i was able to diagnose a faulty ICM on my 94 Corvette. this explained the no start/no spark issue. tonight, the kids and i were out in the garage finishing up the install of the new ICM and i decided to start it and take a quick video and express my excitement that my Vette is back up and running:

Snow is forecast here on Christmas day, and I can't get the FB under the carport. My 1st gen CRX is under it for now. More toys than the driveway can hold......

i had an 86 and an 87 CRX. the 86 was dark blue and the 87 was silver. both 5spd's. loved those cars. wish i still had one to be honest. your in nice shape?

84, got it from the original owner. Faded paint (red over silver) and the nose piece is broke. Otherwise like new, just hadn't run since the late 90's. Was parked due to a carb issue, and they just never got around to fixing it.
Interior nearly perfect, aside from a small in the driver seat from the shoulder belt. Had sheepskin covers on the seats from day 1, but they were trashed when I got it.
Timing belt (preventative) and carb rebuild made it fire up. Gotta flush out the cooling system, as it's not circulating correctly, radiator or lower hose clogged.
Probably going to have to drop the tank and flush it out good, based on the layer of crud found inside the carb. For now, been running a hose from the mech fuel pump into a gas can.

It's got the carbed 1.5/5 speed, was equipped with dealer added fog lights and rear louvers. Later got Koni reds and a set of 2 piece Gotti wheels.

hahaha the old broken nose piece. mine was broken too. i never did find a good one. sold it with a broken nose piece.. kid still owes me $650 on the car..which i'll never see. i'd be lying if i said i didn't miss my CRX's. i might have some pics of the cars i can dig up and post!

Gotcha, I forgot you had the Falcon too. Sucks that the Nazi Rocket is at your moms but you have enough projects that you don't need to see it every day I'm sure :lol:

Yeah, I've not found any good nose (header panel) either. I have found a few sources for new ones, and will likely just go that route. This one got broke after the car was parked. The owners were having roof repairs made to their house, and suspect one of the workers leaned against it not knowing the entire front clip (minus hood) is plastic.

I'd love to see pics. I know this is a RX7 board, and Honda's are generally disliked, but these are cool little cars as well. Besides, we can have more interests than just rotaries.
I wouldn't mind seeing pics of the Falcon either.
I'm also redoing a 74 Ford pickup. Dad bought it new, drove it daily till 2007. Was parked until I brought it home last year. Now runs/drives, just needs a bit of attention on the body work.

Were supposed to get 3-6" on x-mas glad I've got my trusty 4x4 chevy.

the Porsche is a project for sure. its biggest issue is its poor paint. with new paint and weatherstripping, the car would look great. mechanically its decent and has not given me any trouble. i did replace a lot of parts but that's the penalty of owning a 20+ year old Porsche.

the speedometer on the Corvette is stock and was standard across the Corvette lineup from 91-96. i will try and get a video of it in motion and post it here showing how it looks when driving. the lcd display also gives readouts for volts, oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temp, avg. fuel economy, instant fuel economy, range, fuel level, and total vehicle miles

i'll dig the pics out tonight and i'll take a pic of them and post it up. my scanner is broken unfortunately. i have pics of the Falcon that i will toss up as well.

Yeah, I'm a bit south of you. They are saying it could get as deep as 12" around here. If it does, those winter tires are really do me a lot of good, stashed in the closet......

The forecast here in Georgia says we are going to get 0" of snow when the next major system moves through and there little to no chance of salt. That's why only one of my 5 84/85 GSLs has had any rust issues, and it was the one that had spent a couple winters in Ohio early in its life.

Back in the late 80's and living up in snowy Massachusetts, I had a '76 Honda Civic hatchback that I used for winter beater. There is no better car in snow than those small front wheel drive Hondas, just point the front wheels where you want to go and let the rear end take care of itself.

Merry Christmas you guys, the snow is nice to look at but from my experience just about everything else about the stuff is a pain.

i agree with you Ray, the snow is beautiful to look at but the practicality of the stuff is worthless as tits on an alligator.. i hate driving in it and usually just prefer to stay home when the roads are snow covered. my property looks beautiful with all of the snow on the trees. i'll post some pics this morning when i get motivated enough to take a shower and tromp outside, lol.

I remember those days when I lived up in Massachusetts and after taking a shower and going outside your hair would freeze.

i backed my Corvette out of the garage the other night so that we cold pull my brother in law's car in and replace the wheels in heat, light, and comfort. needless to say, i will not be driving that death trap in the winter, lol. this is as far as it got in the snow, lol:
