Another wrecked FB...

So there was a 7 drive here in oregon. Only 3 cars showed but it is still an amazing drive so off we went. About 10 min. in im taking some corners in what i feel comfortable speed but still fast. The guy behind me falls back aways and then i dont see anyone for a while so i turn around and here's what i see....

so the car was totalled. Front clip was damaged.

Lesson learned: dont take corners fast you dont know....especially on stock tires and suspension

That sucks to see man. I've broke traction on the front wheels before too but I was just on and on ramp to the freeway, it was a downgrade and I just slid right off. How bad is the damage under the hood? It looks fairly repairable

well the front clip was mashed in and the radiator was pushed against the block. He paid $700 for it so he's just gonna get another one and swap his great condition GSL setup. He took the corner too fast, over-corrected, and then locked the brakes up. Scary for sure but everyone was ok.

It does suck, but that's how we learn how to drive better, from our mistakes. Whenever I'm driving with the old lady in the 7 and some situation occurs(wet roads mixed with terrible drivers that sort of thing) she is usually in a panic and screaming but I just stay calm and drive my way out of it. Sometimes, it's better to just let the car rotate tha to try and correct it cause it can lead to a smashed Tornado Silver FB :(

that does suck. the guy needs to pull the sheet metal off to see how bad the structure is underneath. i would repair that. the car looks clean enough to repair and the damage really isnt that bad looking. there arent a plethora of clean 7's available for restoration anymore. lesson learned i would say.

ask him if he will sell it that looks fixable

MetaL- 06-09-08 08:57 PM

I'd be interested in picking it up if he does sell. I have a TS FB with some rear QP damage but an immaculate front end. This would be ideal for me. Sorry to see that it happened, but if he wants to sell it shoot me a PM.
