thought i'd post some picks of my 85 se. finally got all the kinks worked out (almost). cant decide if i want to sell it or thro more money at it... again. all stock s5 turbo.

how much would u guys guess i could get for this heap? motor was rebuilt around 2k miles ago by myself. keep in mind there are no running 1st gens where i live and definately none with a turbo II.

why not keep it and enjoy it? any engine bay pics?

82transam 06-25-09 08:57 AM

I'd keep it, you won't get back anywhere near what you put into building it. Like he said, any engine bay pics? Do you have a thread with anymore details, like how you mounted the engine in there and what you did with the S5's omp? Car looks good!

smwebb 07-10-09 06:19 PM

whoa been awhile since i started... i mounted the engine with just the front two mounts on the se cover and i swapped to manual omp but kept the electical hanging in there.. litterally. still could use some clean up but i'm testing waters with selling it so check the for sale page.

Any plans for making an effective intercooler?

Directfreak 03-10-10 05:01 PM

Did you buy that car from a guy in Miami? Looks very familiar.

smwebb 03-12-10 01:31 PM

didn't buy from a miami guy i live in south dakota

lol i hate hood scoops it ruins an fb imo. i want to do front mount but money is everything. right now i'm just running it without a hood and front end cause i hit a guy just bad enough to f up the bumper and peice above it. seems to do pretty good that way tho jk

GreenMachine 03-24-10 01:15 PM

How much time and money did that take? im possibly thinking about it for my GSL-SE or possibly just a street port i dont know tho

mikeric 03-24-10 02:02 PM

Don't sell it unless you just want to throw away money. Mine will be mine until one of us dies (maybe together).

By the way, I have a high hp application and I am usine a front mount NPR truck intercooler (the large one). It is good for about 600 horses. I have seen them on ebay for $100 and a no-name pipe/clamp kit for about $50. So, for $150 you can get a front mount. That is about a week's worth of gas!
