Yes he certainly does. I dont feel worthy of an engine this nice haha.
Spent hours on my engine bay and all the details to try and make it a worthy home of a Chips engine.
The engine went to Chip already ported, with large intake and exhaust ports. He did a full rebuild, all new apex/side/corner seals/springs, bearings (also 3 window for stat gears), oil pump, gaskets etc. Also lapped and nitirded my irons due to wear.
I am running an RB Dell 48 and Steetport exhaust.
I haven't dynoed it, and am still breaking in the Chips engine. I would guess maybe 160 170 crank HP? Just based off of research and dyno plots of similar ported 12A's.
Should run a lot better than the previous build. It had lower compression and blowby due to non OEM corner seals and overall poorly clearanced side seals.
4th gear WOT on the highway is silly fun. The sound from the intake is pure awesome and it is faster than I ever need it to be.

1985 Mazda Rx-7 GSL-SE 52k miles. original stock port 13B motor, aluminum flywheel, 4.77 Kia Sportage differential (stock LSD retained), Exedy stage 1 clutch, full Racing Beat Road Race exhaust, Porterfield R4-S brakes, Ground Control caster/camber plates, Ground Control weld-on coilover kit, Eibach 300lb front springs, Landrum 150lb rear springs, Morimoto Sealed7 7" LED headlights, Mariah fiberglass hood, Mariah Mode 4 rear lip spoiler, VW GTI Mk1 front lip spoiler, Jendosa 280z fender flares.
Stock black plastic Mazda emblem replaced with smaller chrome emblem.
Retained stock center stack. Still powers up and antenna works but all audio is bypassed using eq preamp and bluetooth dongle. Bazooka sub and 4-channel amp hidden in smugglers bins behind seats. White EQ mount is prototype 3D printed piece. Replaced with semi-matching maroon part. All original interior. Dash gauge indiglo overlays.
3D printed side louvers. Mariah Mode Four Rear Lip Spoiler in black plasti-dip. White-out tail light mod with white driveway reflector center cut to rectangle. Proper color LED rear replacement bulbs.
