Yes, it's not too hard. My '79 is sitting on an '82 exhaust right now.

crosen91 04-06-08 01:58 PM

k. so just cut the hole and weld in the third pipe?

waysrx7 04-06-08 02:02 PM

I think that's how mine was done, but I'll have to check to make sure.

crosen91 04-06-08 02:06 PM

am thinking about installing a HHO generator i have enough info. on the subject have been researching for a little while and i am confident i could build a working generator. from there i just need to supply enough electricity that im not starving the rest of my electrical. then i just have the HHO gas flow into the air intake system for the engine. it is suposed to increase MPG and i will be doing tests and posting my results
thats if i do costruct and install this which i hope to do.
although i will generate schematics and post them for anyone else who wishes to do this and the cost(in my area) for the materials. i will also put up some safety info. because HHO can be dangerous if used irrisponsibly
but i will first buid several proto-types before installing
the following are the schematics that seem to all be the same, but they all have the same basis as all of the other generators i have found. and i would recomend building your own than buying one that way you know how it works and how to fix it
(the fourth is just a hydrogen generator it was accidentally uploaded and it is extreamly dangerous. and to those who wish to build one of these i sugjest that u do massive research before even atempting to do so)

crosen91 04-08-08 11:40 PM

i realized that since im doing research into hho gas i might as well research other alternative gasses and would gladly accept any inof that others have found/researched

I say do what you feel. But what ever you do for the love of god dont bridgeport the engine. Yes it sounds cool BUT if and when after a month your like damn this is annoying you cant go back!

And if you do want a bridgeported engine let me know, i have all the 13b parts for sale cheap.

crosen91 08-07-08 01:27 PM

don't have to worry about that I'm taking my baby back to STOCK.
i love me 4-speed 79' built in 4/78 and i want her factory besides maybe the stereo... until i get another fb, then I'm even gonna track down some factory speakers and a clarion tape deck.

Congrats to you - - I'm still hunting one, lest I have to resort to creating a FrankenPipe (tm)

My b-day is coming up (8/27); maybe lightning will strike twice?

crosen91 09-04-08 04:04 AM

ok i got the headpipe sand blasted my dads friend at work was going to fix a hole on the breather pipe, and he did a good job too but he also sand blasted it so its ready for pour-15. now i just need to sand blast the rest of my exhaust

NCross 09-05-08 07:39 PM

503148 is a good VIN to have. Very early production. Mine is 518xxx. I bet 500001 is sitting in the Mazda museum somewhere...

7aull 09-09-08 04:56 AM

I _LOVE_ POR15 but I think you'll find that it will cook right off the head pipe - Rotary Exhaust w-a-a-a-a-a-y hotter than boinger - unless POR is making a high-temp version??

crosen91 09-11-08 03:42 PM

yeah i think your right. because the rotary exhaust is about 2000 degrees and the best that i can find is por20 and it only goes to 1400 degrees

the following is from http://www.route66supply.com/store/page8.html

"This Aluminum high temperature paint is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1400° F, POR-20 is also extremely weather, salt and moisture resistant. Helps prevent cracking, chipping, and peeling. You will be excited by its performance and beauty. We guarantee this to be the most brilliant, uniform heat resistant coating available anywhere. Can be brushed or sprayed"

crosen91 09-11-08 03:47 PM

OK i think i found my answer "pyromark" it can supposedly can handle up to 2000 degrees but $207 for 5 gallons

here are a few of the sites i have found that have decent info.
http://www.tempil.com/product_displa...rm.findapp=209

this article is about how it was used in a major sports arena but the forth paragraph starts to talk about pyromark

T it's cheaper than por-15 works out to be just over ten bucks a quart

crosen91 10-28-08 08:09 PM

OK in the middle of a big move. got all the 7s to the new house.and got the rest of the trashed exhaust off my 7, will hopefully get the new exhaust fitted to see if it will work. that is if i can get her to move the 10 feet to the concrete slab. and before you say push it the breaks are locked and i cant get her to start i think shes Finlay out of gas. Of corse it might be the BLACK fuel filter .. hehehe
