(OTHER) blue book value of a 1st gen

anyone know a site where I can check this? kbb and edmunds only go down to 1987.. if anyone knows a site that'd be great. thanks

There is no site that I know of for the early years. There is a publication called Old car price guide that does cover it. Available at most good news stands or some of the bigger book stores.
You may be able to obtain some info by calling your insurance company. KBB used to go back to the 1900's. I think the books may only be available by subscribing to them or thru some of the insurance companies.

Damn.. that sucks. Oh well, i'll figure something out. Thanks for the help doc.

Anytime. I let someone use my guide and never got it back. I just may pick up another one today. If I do I'll let you know and then I can get you the answers.

Well that's pretty shitty. Sucks to lend things out to people and you don't even get it back. Anyways, if you do pick up one send me a PM and let me know, thanks again.

You can get used car values for 1st Gens at www.NADA.com. It takes some digging and you can't specify mileage, but it's there. They go back as far as '79.

use those same sites but go under the antique cars or classic cars or i know there is some other one cant think of it at the moment all the banks use it though.

that NADA website worked. damn.. 2700 for a average retail good condition 1984 Rx7 GS.. with a clean title of course. thats a lot more then i expected. the high retail value is 3700, which pretty much means its in perfect condition inside and out.

I got the $3,700 for my tan 84 GSL when it was rearended, I argued that it would cost that much to replace the car (it was in great shape at the time). The best part was they let me keep it, which I repaired and kept driving! As in your case, it was clearly the other guys fault, so be insistant that you "get it replaced or completely repaired". That $2,700 should look like a pretty good settlement from the insurance company's point of view.
