(OIL) help, omp mod in process

I was looking at those expensive adaptor plates for getting 2cycle oil into your engine instead of useing the regular engine oil. I just need a few questions anwsered. I need someone who throughly understands the oil supply system.

Does the engine supply pressurize oil to the omp or does the omp actually pump the oil out of the engine.

looking at the back of the omp.. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=180348&stc=1

at the shaft there is a small hole, does that have anything to do with the oil feed? What about the small hole to the right of the shaft is that the hole that the omp uses to get oil from the engine?

and finally.. at the right side of the picture there is a small plate. in that small plate there is a small shaft thats connected to the lever thats connected to the carberator. Is the "compartment" connected to the small hole that the omp draws oil from the engine.

see where I am going with this yet? I am going to fashion some sort of plate or adaptor with some sort of valve to lead to a container that will contain 2cycle oil.

(got your head thinking yet?)

The casting is different than the ones I modified but the hole to the right is the inlet for the oil. The oil would be under some pressure but nothing major. Examine the casting and that hole closely. You should be able to through drill the hole, with a small bit, to the front side of the casting. At that point you will be able to enlarge it to the proper size to tap for the brake bleeder. You may need to enlarge the cavity in the OMP to permit the flow from your access line through the pump. Check out the other post you had (OMP Options). I posted lots of pictures and more of a description of how to do this modification last night. Good luck. :icon_tup:
