(INTERIOR) Instrument Cluster TRICK !!

I just got done putting new white gauge faces in my 84 GS and they look great. I figured out a little trick I figured I would share with anyone who will be pulling the gauge faces for any reason. If you disconnect the speedo cable from the tranny you can feed it thru the firewall and it makes much easier to get the cluster out. This gives you plenty of room to get your hands behind the cluster and pull the rest of the connections. It took about 15 minutes total to get the cluster out and then back in once I replaced the faces. Hope it helps someone else.

Mods have to do it.

Only a moderator can "sticky" a thread. This is a good idea, but IMO, not really worth it. if you know what your doing, you can pull a cluster in 5 min without pulling the whole speedo cable out.

EDIT: Damn, beat me to it.

didn't pull the cable all the way out, just fed enough thru to get behind the cluster and disconnect.

I guess when I posted it here:

In this thread:

And several times over the past few years, that it wasn't "archive" worthy.

Lol, sorry Directfreak :p:

I guess us omnipresent mods do miss things sometimes ;)

Archived, *including* Directfreak's links to his original posts :p:
