(BRAKES) Upgrading my brake booster

I stripped my eng bay for paint. I have read some post on a TII brake booster upgrade. I tried to install it on my SA and it covers 1/2 the hole on the clutch master cylinder. Is the FC N/A booster a little smalller? Any Ideas? Thanks

Can you measure the width on the booster you have? Just want to compare the size with a TII one.. I might need a N/A booster

The TII and S4 GTU boosters are the same, they both have the 4-pot front brakes. You might look for the S4 booster for the single pot brakes. I don't know if they will be much different than an SE booster though.

wow that thing is ginormous!!!!!! does it fit? Does it add alot more pressure/feel to the brakes or not really?

Huh,might be something different about the SA.

My S4 booster came from a TII and it fits with just a little grinding on the side of the clutch master cylinder.
I could see the SA brake booster being smaller than the FB's,but I dont know why they would put the holes in the firewall closer together.
Is it possible you have a S5, 4 pot brake FC booster?Could be larger still, than the S4's...(which JUST barely fits)

Removed it from a S4 TII parts car i just got.. Might try a S4 N/A.. Think it's the same size as a TII one?

S4 big brake cars have a 9" vacuum servo,the base S4 have an 8".

Trim level, not engine type will determine the brakes. For the S4's,only the 4 lug base cars had the small brakes. The GTU,VERT,GXL,Sport and TII all had the 4 pots.

Ahhhh....................

Thats the variable I was missing.
It could still be an SA thing, but Id be more prone to think its a difference between the J-spec and U.S. spec bodies.
