Zoom-Fest '09, July 18th-19th, Road Atlanta, Georgia

We are proud to announce the second annual event date has been set. Due to the success of last years event and the maturity shown by our guest, MazdaMeets.com was able to work out an ANNUAL deal with Road Atlanta and the SCCA.

Mazdameets.com will be hosting Zoom-Fest '09 on July 18-19th at the infamous Road Atlanta course, which offers a gorgeous 2.5 mile track, 750 acres, and close proximity to all needed amenities. This again will be a 2 day festival type event for all Mazda and Mazda powered vehicles. We strive to deliver a safe and enjoyable weekend where you can meet new people, hang out with some old faces and take your car to the limit!

Over the next few months the organizers will be finalizing all the details. We will keep you up to date as more information becomes available. The things we do know at this time will help you plan for the weekend.

* Guest can show up as early as Friday Morning!
* Camping will be allowed, and encouraged!
* All ages are welcomed!
* There will be numerous opportunities to drive the race track, including a PDX (3 - 20 minute sessions with a driving instructor - At Speed!)
* Swap Meet - No charge to sell your extra parts!
* Saturday night outdoor movie!
* Much, much more to be announced!

We hope to see you there. Please keep an eye out for updates posted at MazdaMeets.com.

Unofficial headcount thread. Y'all get to the poll and give us all an idea of what you're interested in.

The poll will be a great tool for us when planning the event. If we have left off options you would like to see, please let us know.

That is for SURE!. You will have two chances at the track. One is touring laps on Saturday at about 80% speed. The other is the PDX on Sunday morning. This will get you 3 - 20 minute sessions at FULL speed with a knowledgeable instructor that can help you learn more about your car, the track and proper lines.

If you plan to run the full speed PDX event then yes, Bring a helmet and long pants and long sleeve shirt. Roll cages are not requited. A roll bar is required for convertible cars.

All the pertinent info will be posted in the next few months as they are finalized.

This would be a great opportunity to break the guinness world record for mazda cars on parade. It currently stands at 249 MX5 Miatas in New Zealand.

2009 will only be the second year for the event, so the turnout can be anywhere from 30 to 300, I'd expect. All I can tell you is that 2008 was bigger than Sevenstock I, plus there's the added fun, and facilities, of Road Atlanta

Honestly, it could get huge.

I'm ready!

Couldn't get the poll to work for me -- I am interested in anything involving driving (AutoX, PDX, ??) and have driven the Road Atl track before at a NASA event.

Looking forward to it,
Troy

This looks AMAZING. Whats the cost of getting to drive on it? I might just skip DGRR and do this instead. I love racing, this would be so cool to do and sorta of a dream come true!

Posted this over on http://www.mazdas247.com and have a couple questions. Are there any finalized prices for everything? I believe i was told its $20 to enter the track but what about camping (any fees?), touring and pdx prices?, goodie bags, t-shirts, ect? Just looking for more details so i can pass them out. So far have another 5-6 people looking to come

I'm definitely interested in everything. I'm still going to DGRR...and I'll be coming from San Fran! So if the engine doesn't blow or anything I'll head up

This sounds like it'll be fun, since I'm not able to go to DGRR I might try to go to this.
