Wrecked My FD: Repair, Replace or Move On?

as i was starting this thread i pretty much came up with my own conclusion.

1. let it sit, find a roller, swap it.
or
2. find a low mileage '94-'95 and build it to my expectations.
3. part it out and use the profits in Vegas while screaming YOLO (do people still say that) out my '89 tercel

either way i cant find myself to move away from the rotary scene, more precisely my FD

what do you guys think.

Dude, sorry to see and hear. It's painful for me to even look at the pics. Hopefully no one was hurt. What happened? Spin and roll? Get another FD and transfer your good parts over. Stick with it!

Ouch....if you decide to part of out I'm looking for the 99 front and 99 rebar .
Looks like your bumper is FUBAR, but hey I'm down if the price is right lol

But man I wonder if you had a roll cage if it would have helped save it????

Fortunately, no one was hurt physically. Semi truck pushed the car into a divider on the freeway causing it to ramp and flip over. someone gave me a lead on a roller so i might to go check it out asap.

Depending on what the next FD is missing ill part the rest. a roll cage would have definitely kept the roof from caving.

If you really love the FD Id recommend salvaging / selling what you can from this car and buying a clean rolling shell or shell with blown engine. It will be alot of work but will be worth it in the end. Sorry to see such a nice FD thrashed like this, accidents do happen. Glad your alright.

Ouch. Sorry to see it. I don't think that's worth trying to fix unfortunately. Buy a nice roller and swap all the good stuff over

I'll take that cute little rabbit. On the topic, I got hit on my last car and I purchased a roller and moved everything over.

thanks guys for the kind words of encouragement. i figured buying a roller and salvaging most parts would be my best bet. got a lead from another forum member. it shows a 1995 RX-7 in the Hesperia junk yard but i didnt see it this morning and no one could give me any info on it.

Aren't the cars from Junk Yards automatically salvage title? If you are going to do all that work just spend the extra few grand to get a clean title (IMO). The way I look at it, the time and money spent on building the car is the same, but the money you get out of it if you want to sell is less than if it is a clean title.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck and I'm glad no one got hurt.

Ouch. Glad no one was hurt. In the end it's still only a car. Keep your eyes peeled for a roller.

Saw the hose out, good wash won't help. Glad no one was hurt.
Sorry to see another FD heading to the wrecker. Hell of a lot of damage!

sorry to hear about ur car but good to hear ur safe. Hope the guy's insurance is paying good money. You can always make the insurance find you a replacement. I call the Hesperia pick a part couple of weeks ago and they had the car. Someone might have bought the whole thing already. Let me know if you like to part out some parts
