Stopping by to say hello!
Thought I would introduce myself. I am an old FD guy who ended up selling my metal child when I moved to NYC going on 7 years ago. I moved out to the Phoenix area a little over a year ago and have just been getting used to the car scene.
Currently on the fence about starting to look at another FD to turn into a track build though it always takes me a year or so to finally pull the trigger (well, that and space to put it is always an issue).
Right now I have an 04 IS300 that does double duty as a daily driver and HPDE training wheels and an 01 911 Turbo that is a weekend cruiser.

To be honest, the best way to describe it is 'different'. Its AWD, heavier, rear engined, and has a lot more down low torque to it so it feels like a completely different animal. The FD was lighter, had a more compact interior and felt more 'mechanical' even though there really arent that many nannies on the 996.
I really want to get another FD for using at the track but I probably wont be serious about it till next spring so that I can build it up over the summer for the fall. While the 911 can be great for the track, its just so expensive to setup that way. If I go that route, I will probably do a roller-up build rather than mangling a perfectly good stock car.

Hey man I remember you & glad youre back! IIRC you spearheaded the creation of the rotary extreme plateless 99 spec front bumper.
Thanks for that. I was part of the first GB for that bumper and I'm still sporting it

I dont even remember if I did that or not but that was a great bumper! I remember someone bumped into it and it didnt break or even scratch. Just gave a little and then went right back to where it was.
Im keeping tabs on the shell market but nothing has really jumped out just yet. I might start looking seriously around Feb after the holidays have calmed down and I have time to even work on it. Now that my friends know Im looking again, they keep sending me pictures to egg me on.
