Arrow Process to follow for changing your User Name

We certainly don't want an active member to have his feelings shattered, so here is how we will now proceed with such matters from this point on since I don't like the amount of 6 post or less accounts I have seen with join dates of 2003 to 2006 and no activity since 2005.

We're going to pursue this as if you are applying for an auto salvage title. You're laying claim to the screen name. For the website, I have to give the original owner of the screen name at least one chance to dispute your claim.

That person will have three weeks to dispute the claim by responding to a notice I will send to the original Email registered at the time they initially joined the website.

If they can't respond within the first two weeks, it could be they got a nice vacation going. I'm jealous.

If they can't respond by the final third week, to me, that's a member who simply isn't active enough, a doofus that doesn't care about the website, a possible scammer who got what they want and left or somebody who has moved backed to the piston world. Regardless, if they can't respond by three weeks, then either the Email address is now dead or illegitimate or the person truly doesn't care.

So we won't care either and you will get the old screen name. The clock for the older account owner begins tomorrow.

In the future, anyone wishing to pursue these kinds of actions will need to give me a link to the old account or your "salvage application" will not be considered.

ok, I'm going to reply here and this is going to become a sticky for future procedural purposes since I'm seeing it quite a bit.
Step One: You decide you don't like your screen name and want to change it to another.

Step Two: You've noticed that a screen name you'd like seems to be owned by someone else but they haven't been active for a while.Step Three: You notice that the screen name you want doesn't exist at all.

Step Four: Start a thread in this board stating your name NOW in that thread and the name you want. State that you are a nice person and have no skeletons in the closet (think Bad Guy threads with you in it as the offender...), no bones to pick or lose, so we have that statement on public record.

Step Five: Don't wait for a reply from an Admin, send a PM after submitting the thread with your current screen name, what you want to change it to and the Email URL you used to register with the RX-7 Club.

Step Six: Wait. Don't send anymore PM's but you can bump your thread every other day if it's not getting any attention.
If the above isn't followed, nothing is going to happen, I can guarantee it.

Carry on!
