So... all you FD guys doing V8 swaps...

What are you doing with the REW's? I'm wondering because I'm about to get my FC back and I've always wanted to do an REW swap into it and now I'll actually be able to do that because it won't be my DD (the 280ZX, '79 Grand Prix, and S-10 will take care of that) and I'll actually be able to work on it, and do it right. Now, this won't be for a while, so if any of you guys have an LS1 etc. swap in mind for your FD in the next 8 months to a year, let me know! I'll buy your engine!LOL. Well, thank you. Bye.

I would be happy to sell you the 13b, turbos, ecu, etc. The engine in my FD still runs and you're welcome to come by for a drive to verify that fact. The only problem from your perspective is that it's an auto. I didn't care when I bought it because I'm swapping the mazda driveline out anyway, but I guess you probably don't want the tranny or ecu.

Thanks man. Yeah, I'd be obliged to drive an FD ( ) even if it is an auto, though I do take your word for it. As far as the tranny goes, I heard somewhere on here that the TII tranny is just as strong if not stronger than the FD's. Not sure on that but its what I heard. As far as the ECU goes, I won't need it (at least I don't think so, lol) because I plan on going standalone (Probably an Rtek 2.0 or Haltech EK6). Like I said, when I do this swap, its gonna be done right. No shortcuts, so budget isn't an issue (hence the going standalone bit). One question for you though- how long until you wanna do the swap? I start my new job next week, so within a month or two I should have enough for the motor. Oh, and about how much would you want? Thanks.

Well I looked around the parts for sale section to try to get an idea on prices... I'm not really sure what to ask for the engine and turbos as I'm not sure what condition the turbos are in. The car hits target boost and everything, but I can say that the engine needs a little bit of work. There is (a very small amount of) oil coming from somewhere, although the car doesn't seem to lose much oil between changes the front subframe is slimed. Also I think the injector o-rings need to be replaced and possibly the FPD as well, I get a raw fuel smell in cold weather, which prompted me to buy a 5lb halon fire extinguisher for the car.

I plan on pulling the engine sometime late Feb or early March so we need to schedule your test drive before then. Where in TX are you located? We can take this to PM's if you don't want to divulge your info to the internet at large...

Is that a TII tranny or an FD? How much would you want and for how long are you willing to hold on to it? Thanks.

Oh, and thanks zkeller. Good luck with your swap as well. You going single or keeping the twins? Oh, and I may need some info as to what to do with certain things when my swap goes underway. Thanks.

hahaha my dog!! we put the fluids in 2 oil pans, my dog was chasing a stupid cat and knocked it over, i already cleaned it off but that night was too late to even try and clean it. stupid cat..and dog..

and yes, the transmission is off of an FD. we can negotiate on a price. the rebuild price was like 970, but im willing to go down to maybe 550. i'll hold it off for some months you are SERIOUS about buying it. if you're super super serious, i'll hold it, no biggy. take your time!

Just a thought...the JDM 13B-RE has it's motor mounts on the intermediate iron like an FC...less fabrication, still not a drop in...

I'm currently researching an FB 13B-RE swap, thought I'd share.

I don't exactly trust JDM motors, ya know? I mean, I'm probably wrong in thinking that, but I've heard many horror stories involving JDM's.

Oh rastarajah, I'm willing to buy it. Just give me some time to figure out my finances and all bro. If Chigliakus wouldn't mind holding on to the motor a lil longer, I may get the tranny from you first. It just depends what happens, ya know? I'm thinking about getting rid of both my 280ZX's and using the Grand Prix as my main DD, so that'll help (selling the cars). Not only that, but my job is looking very promising. I'll let you know if I can't get it from you. Also, I noticed you're located in CA- I know NOTHING about shipping something that large, but I'll be willing to pay shipping if you can set it up. Thanks. As far as the engine goes, I'll just drive 4 hours to Dallas Fort Worth to get it, lol. No sense in paying shipping costs when its that close.

when I say JDM, I just meant it was only sold in the japanese domestic market...I'd tear it down and build it up for that single turbo you know you'll want
