88 vert sbc 5.7 swap
Hey guys. I'm new to this forum & RX-7 ownership in general. I had an 86 Chevy Van G20 hot rod (search that on YouTube for a short vid of it) that I drove daily & never got close to full potential out of the engine. I decided I wanted something lighter, much lighter. I started by looking at fox body mustangs & Nissan/datsun 240s. As I searched through craigslist for a month or so, I kept seeing an ad for this 88 RX7 vert. "Not my style, too much work, I won't fit in that car" I thought. Day by day, week by week I kept seeing the ad for this car & liking it more & more. Meanwhile I'm meeting people to look at other possible builds. Camaros, firebirds, mustangs & even a 240sx. Didn't like em. So I went too look at the RX7 after a month of it being on craigslist. Engine had overheating issues & was somewhat taken apart. But it had a great body & was in decent shape overall. I fit in the car & previously researched the swap, so I gave full asking price. Had it flatbedded home & started working on it right away. Today I pulled out the 13b/Tll. The swap is starting to feel real now. I plan to purchase the deluxe kit from grannyspeedshop but I need to pick a tranny. I have a T400 but would prefer a muncie. We'll see, wish me luck.

Muncie would be super cool, you could also do a WC T5. What are your plans with it after you're done, mostly drag racing? For the FC there are a few other options as well for mount kits, check out norotors.com

I'm building a fun street car. Nothing crazy, maybe 350hp or so. Thanks for telling me about norotors I'll have to jump over & check em out some time.
