No Tires?
Like anyone else who had Rx7s in the past like I did and is just now getting back into this, I have discovered it is hard to find tires for the 84-85 GSL-SE model in 205 60R14. Naturally I was wondering what the pros and cons would be of stepping down to the 195 would be. And, the 195s I found are 65R14. What is the difference between the 60 and 65 series. My guess is the 65s are taller. What would be the pros and cons of going all the way up to the 215? Seems like they would be too big for the 84 model I am buying. Thanks for any help. This is frustrating

the middle number is a ratio based on the first number, so stepping down the width (195) and up the middle number is actually what you would need to do to keep the stock diameter.
you can see how things get affected with this handy app:
Tire size calculator
those 2 sizes are only 1.2% different, or less than 1 mph on your speedo at 60mph.
I would suggest just going to 15" wheels if you can, there are a lot more tires available.

thanks, that is actually a relief. The car is an 84 GSL-SE and I love those aluminum wheels. Can I get those in 15? Will the 15s work on that Rx7 for that year? Thanks for the patience and help.

No, you can't get them in 15s.
15s will work on any year FB, you just have to get the right bolt pattern and offset. As the 1st gen section for that.
I swapped my corolla from 13s to 15s and it's probably the best modification I did to it. the combination of wider wheels, better tires, and less wide flex is pretty amazing.
