Spring rate recommendations with Ohlins
Hi Guys,
I’ve had my FD for a little over a year now with the Ohlins coilovers with the standard out of the box springs. I believe they’re 11kg springs all around. I’ve got the dampening set to about 14 or 15 clicks. Any softer and the car just bounces up and down. Basically, I’d like the car to ride a little smoother and looking into replacing the standard springs with some softer swift springs. I’ve read some threads of folks suggesting 8kg front 6 rear. I see that sakebomb garage suggests 10/8 for their “grand touring” set up on their custom Ohlins.
Anyone have experience with these set ups? For reference my car already came with stiffer sway bars and poly bushings. Would people suggest switch to stock sway bars before changing the spring rates?
edit: I also rarely track or auto-x my car. Maybe once a year. Pretty much street driven all the time. And I’m currently on some cheap Chinese high performance tires. Can’t remember the brand but I’m looking forward to getting rid of those. I suspect PS4s will help a bit with ride comfort. So my goal is essentially Sunday canyon carving.

I'm running the road and track on the stock springs and Ohlin's recommendation for dampening and dont have any excess bouncing concerns.
Also running the mazda motosports front sway bar and 95? rear sway bar with 275 square RE71R. I'd say I'm 75% track with 25% street driven, but I'd still say the ohlins are the most comfortable coilovers I've had.
