Delrin VS. Super Pro Bushings?

I appologize if this has been covered, I searched and could not really find an answer. What are the main differnces between the Delrin bushings and the Super Pro bushings which i believe are poly urethane? Are the delrin bushings stiffer? I would be using these in a mostly street driven car which would be a better set up for the street?

Try searching. There are a few threads on the topic both here and in the Suspension section.

The main difference is the material. Delrin is a stiffer material than Poly Urethane.

Opinions differ but if you search and read the threads the general consensus appears to be that softer is better for street driven cars.

I'm choosing my words carefully so you can read up on this and make your own decision. The people selling the stuff have their own way of stating things.

I have searched and have seen comparison against stock with the delrin, but not really the difference in stiffness between delrin and poly urethane. Either way I believe I will go with the Super Pro set up for my street car.

Delrin (just a brand of material name) are basically non-compliant bushings. Polyurethane bushings are designed to be somewhat flexible (depending on compound used) but less than rubber. Their main advantage is that they absorb more high frequency vibrations which is great for the street. Delrin will transmitt those vibrations through the chassis to your teeth and spine.

Street car: Polyurethane is better as Delrin will give you absolutely no advantage and will be too loud and uncomfortable.

Street/Track car: Up to you and what you are willing to sacrifice in terms of comfort and responsiveness.

Track car: Delrin, aluminum or bearings of one sort or another.

If i get:
-the 18 piece delrin bushings
-the rx7store toelinks http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/toelinks.htm
-oem rear pillow ball bushings set https://www.rhdjapan.com/home/produc...oduct_id=3186#
-ATTAIN Pillow Ball Rear Toe Control Link Bushing Set https://www.rhdjapan.com/home/produc...roduct_id=2980

I would have compensated for all the bushings with without buying anything extra right?

The Nagisa are essentially heim joints that will be HARD, and I don't know if I'd trust their replacement suspension arms... they're welded, and welds crack.

You don't need bushings to be like rocks, they just need to be precise. Unless you're racing the car competitively (AND happen to like the feel, because it won't necessaily make the car handle any better or go faster), I can't imagine why you'd put solid bushings on the thing (nagisa, alluminum or delrin). I think it's one of those deals where "more" isn't necessarily "better".

Talking

The thread that wanklin linked to is the same thread he asked his group buy participants to post feedback in. He also had Jim Lab's and my posts deleted from it. Fair? You decide... I asked the guys who participated in my group buy to post their findings in my group buy thread. They are all quoted on the last page. If you would really like to compare the bushings you should read those as well.

Just scroll down to "Testimonies From Delrin Lube Groove Bushing Users". You'll be amazed at what they say...

Here is yet another comparison.

Actually, you got that wrong. I asked the mods to delete the BS posts. We were looking for feedback directly from *current* customers in that thread. Not more marketing spam being shoved down our throats from people hawking their goods.

Your bushings seem pretty good but you always seem defensive when people ask for comparisons or questions. Don't know why but its all good.

Silly boy. That thread was started by someone hawking bushings to hawk more of his bushings. Why do you think he didn't ask folks to compare his bushings to the PowerFlex RX7 Urethane bushings?

All Jim and I posted was quotes from users. Sorry if you didn't like other bushing users posts being reposted. Their information is relevant though. You may have felt it was marketing spam but we didn't just finish our group buys like wanklin did and I wasn't going to PM 150 people 5 at a time. Why not let people see what is thought of the two different bushings being sold on this forum from actual users anyways?

Sure is, PowerFlex. Just go to Mazda, then Mazda RX7 FD Urethane Bushings.

just for the record, jimlab in particular was posting quotes from about 4 year ago. Some of them from people who later on got rid of his bushings in favor of something else - like stock or mazda comp.

yes it was started by someone hawking bushings but he did not try to actually sell anything in them. just try to get some user comparisons started. which was cool. just b/c he started it doesn't mean its a competitive threat to you dude.

friend of mine is using your bushings in his track only car and likes them in that setting fwiw.

cheers.

Whew, and to think, when he posted the question

"Do the Delrin bushings create any new whining or any detectable level of noise vibration or harshness?"

I thought he was fishing for ANY dirt he could throw on the Delrin bushings to up his own sales. Silly me.

Quick question for ya friend. How many of these items can create any detectable level of noise vibration or harshness?

1. 18 rims with low profile tires

2. Aftermarket coil springs

3. High performance shocks

4. Pillow ball upper shock absorber mounts that remove the factory rubber insulation

5. Aftermarket sway bars

6. Roll cage

7. Engine brace

8. Aftermarket motor mounts

9. Shock tower brace

10. Differential brace

Here's the kicker. What about toe links with solid Heim joints or trailing arms with solid Heim joints?

Let me guess, this is all just more marketing hype on my part.

Wow Tiresmokin. You really need to see a shrink buddy. We had this same issue on another discussion where you started being sarcastic and taking eveything people say as a personal attack on you or the bushings you have for sale. My reply to you was deleted by the moderator(as this one may be also). CALM DOWN DUDE!!! I think I can speak on behalf of most people in here when I say; we are just trying to get to the bottom of this bushing issue and to find out: #1 Is there really any difference with these bushings, and#2 If there is a difference, which one is better suited to their needs.

First of all, he asked both SuperPro AND Delrin customers to post, not just his. That is about as unbiased as you can get. And "They are all quoted on the last page"??? Don't you mean EVERY page?

Seems to me that you and wanklin (or just you possibly) have the issue with one another, so why would he bring PowerFlex into it? Most people have probably never even heard of PowerFlex anyway, I know I hadn't until I had already seen your Delrins and the SuperPros. If you don't feel like PMing 150 people 5 at a time, that's no one else's problem but yours. I'm pretty sure wanklin didn't ask YOU to post up what your users though, he wanted them to do that on their own. You put up their reviews on every single post in your thread already, why put them in another thread too? Why not let them come to the new thread and speak for themselves?

For cryin' out loud! He asked the same thing about SuperPros!! Can you not read?! When I posted about the SuperPros, I responded to the same exact question but with SuperPro replacing Delrin. Hmmm, that looks pretty unbiased to me, but I guess someone as paranoid as you couldn't see that. Silly you is right!

I'm pretty sure alot of those items listed still won't add as much noise and/or harshness as near-solid bushings. How about this...why don't we just make some solid steel as suspension? We'll just replace the aftermarket coilovers or strut/spring combo with solid steel bars, that might be right up your alley! And how many people have all those mods done to their street cars? You have choices in all those items just like you have choices between Delrin and SuperPro. Go with a roll cage and a stiffer suspension setup with Delrins if you want to run on the track, so with no roll cage and softer suspension with SuperPros. It's all about options. Can you get a grip sometime please? Not everyone is out to talk **** about you and your bushings.

I just wanna know which is which and what is what like my granny used to say. And like I said in another discussion; it seems like everyone in the hot rod world(import or domestic) except me, love to "down play the bad" and "say its okay" after they bought a car or a part for their car. Its like they feel that if the own or sell a product they HAVE to be loyal to it...lol. I'll tell you in a second when something sucks or not. I bought sevaral parts for my previous 11 sec DSM and for this FD and got burned several times. I hold no loyalties to performance part companies or auto makers. For example; you wanna compressor surge your turbo until kingdom come? buy a HKS super seq. BOV. Its by far the worst BOV on the market, how HKS sells it and doesn't get sued is beyond me. I had one and everyone I know who had one(even way more competent people than me) destroyed their turbo from compressor surge. YOU SEE!! Honesty...straight up with no strings. It doesnt mean I hate HKS I actually like some of their products. But I tell it like it is!!!. Now...lets stop the bickering fellas, and any users of Poly, Unobtanium, Delrin, Nylon or whateverthefuck, please chime in and tell me the real deal, because my car is sitting on jackstands waiting.
