Looking for help in Houston
Hello,
RX-7 noob here. Myself and some buddies are getting a '86 base RX-7 ready for the Grassroots Motorsports $2006 Challenge.
So far we have the interior stripped. We are looking for a stronger rear end with LSD to replace the stock open unit.
We also would like to swap the 5-lug setup so we have a larger wheel choice and better brakes. Advice on how to go about this will be appreciated.
Anyone have an idea what a good price is for the items listed above?
Any regular SCCA autox'ers on here? I race my WRX wagon at GGP all the time.
Thanks in advance,
Will willtrail @ yahoo.com

If you go 5 lug, you can use the aluminum calipers that came on the FD... which I happen to have an extra set for sale! You can use the stock FD rotors or any OE sized aftermarket replacement then. 11.4"x.81" is the stock front FD rotor size IIRC.
Funny that I just got a MY02 WRX MBP. Fun little car, too bad it's gotta go to finance the FD. Would have been fun to take the scoob auto-xing....

I have probably seen you out at the SCCA events, I drive the maroon GSL-SE.
I would try to find a 5 lug car out there with a blown motor, of coarse they are all over the place until you are looking for one, then there isn't one to be found. Try the Houston RX-7 forum.

I might know of a 5 lug car with no motor or trans and it has the dual piston calipers, I will see if he wants to sell it.
