OK, I have lurked the message-board long enough . Here's the situation:
I purchased a 1990 Turbo RX7 recently and was told that it has a blown engine. I'm getting the car towed to my location this weekend (its in Ft. Worth Right now).
The problem/s:
A). I know nothing about these car's. So I may need someone to come look at it and tell me what is wrong with it. It supposedly has a blown engine...but there not sure...Hell I don't even know if this engine turns (I will find this out when I get it towed this weekend).
B). If it does have a blown engine can someone make a suggestion on what to do? Buy a rebuilt engine...or can someone here in the dallas area do rebuilds other than Rotory Perfomance (already called them and they have a huge waiting list and there expensive as he!!).
C). If I end up buying a rebuilt engine is there anyone here in dallas that is willing to help me do a engine swap if I pay them?
Sorry if I seem so incompetent....I just really am totally clueless on this RX7 stuff. I got the car for a great price even if the engine is blown and I figured if I put a little bit of money into it will be a nice car and I could learn alot! So if your willing to help me out let me know...I'm new to all this RX7 stuff and I also have another friend that has a 1990 RX7 N/A who is in the same situation as me (well he's a car nut...no's alot about car's...but is new to the whole rotary thing)...so 2 new rx7's in town that need some help!
Your a perfect candidate for Don, as JMO87 said. I don't have his number but ask information for Don Marvel or Marvelspeed in Rowlett. Don knows what he is doing.
Where are you located in Ft. Worth, I am in North Richland Hills. I would be glad to help you with an initial evaluation and try to help sort out what the problem may be. I just enjoy working on REX's. I'm no expert by any means. Leave reply or email me at dphelmer@earthlink.net.

Very ancient thread. That's from Shane Jordan. I installed a Haltech E11v1 on his car back in January '03. The ECU was bad. The car was terrific! I think Don did his motor and turbo before it showed up at my place sometime in late '02.
If you lose intrest in the this car please let me know, I'm looking for one at the moment.
And with his third post in 2006, the man just disappeared after reviving a "4 and a 1/2 yrs old" thread...
