yeah the spl is actually bigger. YOU be suprised how close in size each turbo is but the kai is more closer to the gt42r than the spl. but the 42 is a bigger turbo i know that for a fact. but the question is how big is it from the T51. & ive searched before. it seemes no one wants to pay HKS money thus why not alot of people have the turbo!

hks far superior
t51r is based of a garret ta45s which I think you can still buy from garret The t51r's have a higher flow rating than the ta45s but similar spool and response times! The hks units have better flowing compressor housings with a slot around the inlet that feeds air into the sides of the inducer to reduce compressor surge! also the hks turbos feature the bullet shaped compressor nut that is said to also improve flow. thanks for listening

The Garett gt4202r with the tial housing is pretty much the exact same size as the HKS t51r SPL... With the t4 and t6 frame the garett is bigger.
But why do you need to know the size? Wondering what box to put it in??

nice to see my thread resurected from 5 yrs ago even though i did go with the GT42....... wierd to see that half comments are making fun of Newbies & other half actually help you out...
either way i went with the GT42 since the T51 is same size but for the sound is ridicilous.... besides the fact the GT42 outflows more.... & i made a hybrid by Machining a GT45 wheel in the 42R.
