my n/a supercharging project complete
I dont have much time right now but ill give you a short overview.
Well i didnt really want to spend $3800 on atkin's efi supercharging kit and i didnt really feel like swaping in a turbo engine in considering my engine runs very strong. Plus everybody has a turbocharged rotary, not many have a supercharged one. I figured that i could try and supercharge it as a project and if it didnt work out or if the engine died i could put a low compression engine in.
I bought an eaton m90 off of ebay for $150, that is very nice and tight, $50 for a machined v-belt pulley for the supercharger, $40 for all the piping, and $50 for a bypass valve and a blowoff valve, My total expence for this entire project was $290 . The bracket i fabbed is very very strong and very impressive, the bracket is welded to the engine mounting pad. It is as one with the engine in its movements. I piped the s/c just like a turbo, with a bypass valve and a blow off valve, in line between the s/c and the throttle body.
I tried to calculate the pulley size i would need to have 6psi and it was 3.5". I ended up with 7-8psi, and the supercharger is only running at 70% of its full capacity.
Lets put it this way i have 6psi by 1500 rpm. I didnt really have to worry about predetination because i have a safc, I havnt felt or heard one ping and i am running 89octane, and i only have the fuel truned up slightly.
It is now a frieking beast off the line, and pulls like hell compared to n/a. Here are some pics of everthing as of two weeks ago, I dont have any of the finished product. Ill get some pics of it all done on here tomorrow. Let me know what you all think

Now don't flame me, I don't know **** abotu superchargers.
I'm assuming the hole at the top is the outlet (i.e. supercharged air) If you connect it straight to the TB (w/o intercooler) how do you fit the AFM?
As others have asked...are you running an intercooler? Pics with pipe laid out?
I am now very strongly considering this as a project! How the hell did you land a supercharger that cheap!?

He has a S5. Easy way to tell: look at the TPS. S5 has narrow and fullrange TPS sensors.

These pics arent very up to date at all, you cant tell much from them, I ll get some good ones up tomorrow of everything finished.
I should have taken a picture of the bracket by itself but the camera was at my highschool and i wanted to get it on the car. The plate the s/c sits on is 1/4' steel, that plate then sits on two supporting towers that are made from 2" square tubing, one in front one in back. those towers are then welded to a piece of 3/8" steel in the form of like a z, it is really hard to expalain i just found it at my place, ( i live on a large farm and we have tons of steel) that peice is then welded to the round engine pad. I really should have taken a picture of it out of the car so you guys could see how well it is made. it is very very rigid. I am a pertty damn good welder, so i MIG welded everthing, I didnt intercool it because i dont think i need it with the low boost level. You would all be impressed with how frieking hard it pulls , especially down low. I live in the boonies of ND so there are no local dynos, But i am going to have it dyno tuned within 6 months. Ill post the noumbers when i have them. but i would say i would have to be running at least 180 rwhp. 7psi on high compression dont you think i should be perty close to that

i was looking at getting a sc before i got my fc they hall pertty good too

yes, you are my new hero as well. and to get a supercharger that cheap, sure makes me want to find one and supercharge my N/A. don't have the dough for a turbo at the moment but could probably muster up 700-1000 bucks within the next 4 months.
mad props on your success man. first with icemark's s5 manifold on the s4 block then a cheaper way to make the rotary faster (s/c). although i have an s4, shouldn't be that much different.

Eaton superchargers are used on fords, especially the TBs

A guy in my club is responsible for this...
I still haven't gotten a good look at it, and it's still got some bugs. Unfortunately he used the M42 instead of an M90, so his motor will be... choked.
