For all Haltech owners...

...how many of you drive your Haltech controlled car every day? You know as a daily driver. I'm just kinda curious how many people get it tuned well enough to do this.

I drove my car everyday until I parked it to work on the single stuff. All in all my car ran better than stock and was one of the best running cars I have been in.

Idle did vary about plus or minus 4RPM, but that is only noticable if you are staring at a digital tach

My car runs 10 times better than any P-FC car I have been in.

at first it was a little rough.. after some more tuning, it idles better than stock, and if I could afford the gas, and had an alignment I would be driving it every day.

I could drive mine everyday if I didn't mind paying for all the damn fuel it uses and the noise but it runs awesome. Always starts up, never overheats, works perfect. Super smooth.

I also need to tune it better because I am running stupidly rich.

I drive mine every day in all conditions with and without the a/c running. A car with a Haltech, can ONLY run better than stock when tuned properly.

i took the long and old fashioned mod path. as you convert to dp and catback and go with the PMC piggyback, the stock ecu can't be controlled in terms of so many variables. the PMC just adds percent fuel and timing. the base fuel and timing curves are still there and fine tuning is impossible. the haltech lets you set everything fairly precisely for your car. and, you control cold start and throttle tip in. once you're done and get it right the car will run -- day to day -- better than it did before, assuming it was modded at all.

the idle on my car sucked with the pmc. perfectly stable with haltech. tip in is great. its like a stock car's ecu, but set for the mods i have. great day-to-day driver, though i don't drive mine every day (because it spends the spring at kd rotary...). -gordon

Every day. Don't worry about the end result it will run like a raped ape! Just buy from someone like the Hitman. The map that he supplied ran great. Take your time and do it right and you will love it!
