I have a 90 GXL with a 5 speed. Well the mechanic said my transmission is bad. So its like an act of congress to find one. Found a Turbo 2 tranny. Just wondering will this just bolt up or what do I have to do to get it to work? Also heard that the T2 trans is alot stronger.

for a turbo trans swap you will need turbo starter, S5 turbo flywheel (since yours is a S5), turbo clutch kit, slave cylinder, and a custom driveshaft to bolt to the n/a diff (mazdatrix sells them)
Theres lots of threads on this, search and you will find it.

Ok sounds a little costly to me. Trying to save some money here. What about a automatic swap?? What will I need for that? Anybody got a transmission for sale?
What is "bad" about your transmission? Unless something actually broke, you may just be looking at an input shaft bearing or something equally simple that can be fixed with a few hours of labour.
turbo trans swap is exactly like he said and in the end would cost you more in parts to make it bolt up than getting another NA trans. I however, have an NA trans from a NA to full turbo swap build I recently completed for someone and the entire NA drivetrain ran perfect before it was pulled and had about the car had 100K on the clock. You'll need you old connectors and little switches off you're trans but I won't want much for it since the only NA RX car I have is a 1st gen. PM me.
Sorry guys if it looked like this thread just got turned into a WTB forum reply, just seeing if I can help someone out thats all.

Don't know for sure. It will barely go into 1st or 2nd without some force and doesnt want to come out either but 3rd,4th,and 5th rev work fine. I really need a transmission though because you can see all the workings where the shifter is. Whats sad is I just had all that rebuilt about 5 years ago and havent prob put 10k on it since and now its back the way it was.
