Looking awesome, what happened with the other setup?

Are you going to still be using a factory hood? It looks like the elbow on the throttle body may cause an issue with it sitting pretty high? Very cool example of how to make one of these cars go REALLY fast!

Where are you buying the E&J parts through? Looks like they have some very impressive parts that I wouldn't mind looking at.

Awesome build.

What causes the idle to lope like that? I'd never expect to hear a rotary doing that; sounds like a V-twin!

The old motor was a stock TII engine that I broke on the dyno. I wasn’t running a intercooler but only meth injection to cool the intake charge. This proved to not be sufficient as my intake temps were 220 degrees. I eventually spun a bearing on the engine, and my compressor housing on my turbo fell out during a run. It was a pretty disastrous day.

Correct on the engine height, I didn’t realize how much higher the 3rd gen intake sits than the 2nd gen intake. So, I’ll need to do something about the hood. I’ll need some sort of hood scoop added. Got any suggestions?

Not too worried about it right now, I don’t have a problem with driving it around town without a hood.

I buy all my E&J parts from www.eastcoastparts.com

Cowl induction, TII, Hemi style scoops, there are a ton of choices.

The cowl will give the car a muscley look, while the TII will hint at the turbo inside.

There is the Caprice scoops, they are wide and flat and should clear the elbow barely.

Some Chrysler scoops:

Late model Subaru:

A few examples.

I like that I can drop a wrench on the fender and not worry about the finish (unlike with my old FD). I was always worried about the car getting scratched, and cracking the widebody. They’re completely different animals, so it’s hard to say.

When people see my 1st gen for the first time, they first thing they say is “I like your FD a lot better, but this is cool too”. That’s kind of disheartening, but whatever… 

Right now, the only thing holding me back from getting tuned is my fuel pump setup. I'm currently running one Aeromotive A1000 Pump and that's clearly not enough. I need to buy two Bosch 044's, then I'll be all set for getting tuned. Hopefully, we'll start the tuning process in December.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm pretty happy with what I've achieved by myself

did you take into account tire growth when you tubbed the car. It looks like they might rub pretty bad once you get above 100mph because as im sure you know those tires will grow on you.

We had the car up to 150 mph on the dyno and no rubbing occured.

FYI; Mickey Thompson states that their radial tires have zero growth.
