VERY ODD Driverside OIL LEAK!!!!! WEIRD

I just picked up sonicrat and i hopped out of the vert and my leg was covered with oil. I looked around a bit and noticed it was comming from the damn driverside speaker. If you have any info on what it might be please let me know.

Have you looked in the engine bay and checked for leaks? It is possible that oil is leaking and then being blown through cracks in the firewall seals...

Or, is it clutch fluid leaking from your master cylinder?

I just took the speaker out and i still cant see where it is comming from. It smells like the gear oil the use in outboard boat engines.

It has to be from the clutch. There is no way motor oil is going to get on your leg no matter where it is leaking. Are you sure it didn't come from something before you got in the car and maybe you just didn't notice? And why do you say it is coming from the speaker location? Is there oil on the speaker grill? Maybe you brushed up against something that left a nasty oil stain on your pants, and then you rubbed up against the speaker grill when driving. Otherwise you have an oil ghost in your car and are probably going to die!

Sounds like the clutch master then. Motor oil smells and feels different.

No it actually came from the inside part of the speaker. My clutch pedal and my brake pedal work fine. There is more then just a small amount. It actually leaked by the speaker through the speaker grill and then dripped onto my pants leg.

It's not his clutch master, I checked all over on that. And he said it's coming from the speaker, because well, it is! It's not just a small ammount either, it looks like the speaker is spewing oil out from itself. It's behind the grill just dripping away, the both master cylinders were dry, and it didn't look/smell like brake fluid either.

Depending on the speaker it could be Fero-fluid from the voice coil of the speaker.

But that woudn't be more than a tablespoon at most.

Do you have aftermarket speakers in there, and if so what brand/model?

The other than that comes to mind is the speedo cable, if it has a broken seal and the tranny was over filled it could pump up gear lube which would run down the back of the cluster then could drip onto the dash and speaker.
