Feel free to help. I don't know them all, but the more we have show up the greater the chance we'll have more events, more often, and that's the goal. Just copy and paste what I've put up

Unknown, it's a test event. I'm sure the more people that show up, the longer it'll go. The point is to show support to a local track that there is interest in drifting at an affordable price. This should also help a bit further down the road with other tracks hopefully.

July 2nd is a Wednesday. Don't people work?

Not that I'm at all interested in drifting, but it's good to support Delaware Speedway. But on a Wednesday afternoon? The people able to attend an event on Wednesday afternoon probably don't have the money to support even "low priced" drift days...

We need some drift junkies to put on a show. We want the owner of the track as enthusiastic about drift as we are. Take time off and come on down!

Well, I spent the last half week helping Brent get his car ready, and getting the rx7 ready and trying to get the TE72 ready as well as trying to get people out to come slide for free. We finally got on the road after an $80 fill up. Met Rob from Scarborough before heading out, then eventually got to Delaware only after Brent almost ran out of gas. Got to the track and no one was there. Eventually two more guys showed up and we all started drifting. I did a bunch of good runs, so did James and Brent.

Rob, wanted me to try his car. a black hatch with a Silvertop 20v, Watanabes, and TRD close ratio transmission, no LSD, ****ty springs. Did a couple laps, got in some good drifts...and spun it into a giant tire, I backed in, bumped it. No harm done.

Then they wanted to clean the infield track, Brent had done a bunch of run offs into the dirt and chucked up a bunch of stones. So we drifted on the big oval, I got sideways a few times on a couple of the corners, corner 4 sliding, sliding. GRIP, wrong way spin and SMASH into the wall. Limped back to the pits.

Bent the Pan hard bar, door, fender, control arm and tie rod. Done for the day.

So Kyle, KR Goodwin says, some farm two roads up has an RX7 in the field. "It's on Brougham, it'll be on the right the house with the two barns." Well, turns out everyone on a country road has barns.

So I decided to stop out of confusion and low and behold behind us was a field with cars in it.

We pulled into the driveway of a house being built and an old guy is weed wacking. Under the impression we were looking for a "Phil" this man had no idea who Phil was, but his son owned the property named "Ed", low and behold in the back yard was 2 first gen RX7's, a Celica Supra, AW11 MR2, a late 60's Toyota pickup, and an AE86.

We walked back up to talk to the old guy and he was taking our plate numbers down. He ended up giving us his sons phone number, and a general idea of where he lived. after no answers on the calls, and a stop on the road we found "Ed's" place. Who wasn't home, but his wife was.

So she called him and he was just on his way back, so we trucked back down the road to the heap of cars.

Ed finally showed up, and said we could use the parts we needed, plus I could have the gold pair of mesh wheels off the Zenki car. Wicked! So we got to pulling the suspension. Well, about 3 hours into it, it started to pour. We were on a mix of concrete, mud and sand. It kept pouring, and kept pouring. Eventually the neighbor came over. Who had previously expressed interest in the rx7's to Ed. He was very angry we were touching "his" cars.

Luckily Ed showed up at that moment. Brent was working furiously away, after a total of 5 hours we were almost done. Ed had gone home, Angry neighbor left, and we were putting on the wheels. We were all Drenched in mud and sand and the tools were everywhere, there was also a lot of grease. We grabbed the two meshes off the first gen as the rims on the car had bent when they hit the wall.

We threw them on and left the others from the car, although they were bent, they held air nicely. We began driving. Now, the suspension we put on didn't fit quite right since the Zenki is a bit different than the Kouki, noting that we could've taken the Kouki stuff, but for some reason didn't.

I figured the noise was just the new zenki suspension and the bent rear axle. But No, turned out my new front tire decided to SCHRED TO ****ING BITS. while the other leaked air like a *****. Not a problem, after we found the key which James lost in the mud in the pitch dark on the side of the road. We then changed on the spare.

We finally got into London at a gas station only to find the front mesh very low and that the ****ING SPARE DOESN'T HOLD AIR. So we decided to park the car for the evening, and take a ride back into kitchener.

I left a LOT of detail out. That is the much shorter version.

the event was ****ing AWESOME. Only 6 cars showed up, and the guy is like "yeah, show me what drifting is, we want it at the track." So we did. We actually had a small crowd turn out and there was NO advertising for the event. They got their "monies" worth since I smashed real nice.

I must take the time to thank:

-Luke for organizing the event.

-Kyle for the tip on the parts. Nice Miata sliding by the way.

-Aaron for running his lights all night to keep out barn yard rain build up well lit. After a boost, everything ran well.

-James, for your patience, understanding, Love and support!

-Rob, for your dedication to see the whole thing through, your "talking flash light" and letting me drive your car.

&

-Brent for staying up all night working on the TE72 for the event, even though we never got ready, it was a valiant effort. And for spending 5 hours in the mud putting on new suspension for me.

****ing Epic trip. Hopefully pics will be soon.

Didn't I mention something about the walls? Good story though. Sorry to hear about the car.

S'ok! The risk was worth it. Had an epic adventure and lots of fun. My car is still sitting in London, not sure how I'll get it home though.

Big thanks to Chris Muise, Aka, Orion84gsl. Went by my car and grabbed some of my expensive stuff to keep it from getting stolen. Thank you Chris!
