we will be installing a complete set of RacingBrakes this next weekend, adding a set of Enkei NTO3+M 18 X 9.5 & 10.5 wheels like mine and Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs, 255 and 295s. we will swap out the Megan coil overs for a set of Teins as on my car. Aaron's car has a tripoint front bar as my car does.
we will then have two FDs w exactly similar suspensions.
one w a torquey Pontiac GTO LS2 w some mods and dynotuning by Luke Stubbs at Beyond Redline in Green Bay.
and we will have my FD w a full tilt 2 rotor using two Garrett TO4s capable of making as much power as a GT42, running pump and a new gen FJO fuel injector methanol system. dynotuned by Luke at Beyond Redline.
which will win at Blackhawk Farms 1.8 mile road course?
locked and loaded and coming to the board this summer.

mods pls leave this in the 3rd gen section as it is a study re the FD and i expect to win anyway.

I have the feeling that the LS2's torque advantage will suit the course's numerous "point and shoot" turns. Blackhawk is a pretty tight circuit with not too much flow to it.
just a quick comment to assure interested parties that this thread will NOT degenerate into a food fight between people who wish to discuss whether other engines are appropriate. if you do wish to discuss this feel free to start another thread, maybe in the lounge section. posts as to how you feel about alt engined FDs have and will be deleted.
this thread is about having fun w the FD and prepping it as a true DUAL PURPOSE machine. friendly on the street and a real chainsaw ontrack. it fits well w my thread in the suspension section on setup. you can have it all if you know when to say when on various items. it is way too easy to end up w a racecar on the street. not fun.
this thread will be about setup and at-track adjustmenting to max out performance. the LS2FD machine will provide an interesting target. most interesting will be the fact that both cars will run exactly similar suspensions, wheels, tires, etc.
there will be lots to cover before we get ontrack. this week we will be installing a complete set of RacingBrakes and hitting the dyno w Aaron's LS2 car. once we have his power established we will dyno my car and decide just what kind of boost/power level we have available.
