Paul and I in Junkyard land part 2

Another fine day in junkyard land with power tools!

First we had to build a low rider!

And then get to stripping the car, and I though tow trucks were cool

-------- Cranes rule!! ---------

then let is fly away......

complete pix can be seen at http://my7.rx-7.org/Paul/donorland-april.htm

It was a fun day taking even more parts off the donor cars, now more parts that need cleaned, sand blasted and painted, will it ever end?

Well, he did say it was a donor car, didn't he? Looks like he got most of the bits and pieces...if one must die so that others might live...

All RX-7s go the the junkyard sooner or later...

I made the mistake of reading this thread before going to bed. I had nightmares all night about RX-7s getting stripped and crushed. Then I woke up and found a new real-life nightmare, but that's a different thread...

I'm too afraid to look at the pics.

All those car parts have gone to good homes, or are waiting for a good home
The one SE had an independent rear suspension - it was so rusted it was no longer attached.
Beats having the cars sitting in some backyard rusting away.
take the parts off while they are still usable.
and we all know how hard it is to find certain parts

The plan is to keep it in one piece, unless the rust is too bad

If that's the same car that they showed before... the bodyshell was garbage anyway, all coming apart at the seams. Not pretty.

What he means is the rear suspension was INDEPENDENT of the body - the body was so rusted nothing was holding the rear axle in anymore.

How hard is it to learn how to use a plasma cutter and MIG or TIG welder... (What the hell do MIG and TIG mean anyhow? Is it any different than an acetelyne torch?)

I need to cut wheel wells out of some car that someone put the front end into a pole and put them in my rusted out wheel well areas, kinda like Setzep did.
