Has anyone hand-molded interior parts?
Has anyone hand-molded interior parts?
I'm looking to completely rework the interior of my 88 Vert. My original plan was to mold new trim for the dash, doors and other plastic trim pieces.
Has anyone ever done this? what technique did you use?
I'm not looking forward to making press molds for each piece, so I thought about replacing or re-covering cloth/leather components and painting and sealing the plastic components.
I've done small bits and pieces of interior work here and there but this is my first complete interior re-work...
Any advice?

I would also like some details on how to mold plastics for the insides of our cars. Im not talking about covering up the old stuff, im talking about making entirely new pieces that have that "factory type interior trim" surface. If i could do this i could make a whole new interior! There has gotta be a way to just spray plastic into a fiberglass mold and then Viola! brand new interior piece. I caled a plastics company (smooth-on)and they werent very helpful. Said what i wanted to do was too hard and too costly. Same **** i heard when i first got into fiberglass composites. I am sure there is a easy way to do this! HELP!
