Cost effective spring/shock setup for my FD?

I have a 93 touring with 17x8 225/45/17 tires front, 17x9 255/40/17 rear, on stock suspension currently, would like a bit stiffer ride with eh probably ~1" of drop, any recommendations that wont' rub?

You might check out the RSR Down Springs. They seem to have spring rates that should be stock shock friendly. Rishie recently posted pictures of an FD with them installed.

If all you want is drop keep the stock shocks and add lowering springs such as the RSR's suggested above.
