HKS T51R KAI turbo

Need some help here,I have a HKS t51r kai turbo kit for series 5 fc.And i need to know what i can do to spool this big dog up.Alot of people say well that turbo aint really streeatable, but i isten to the ones that have owned fc's with turbo setups like this and they tell me you can make these streetable with real simple things. My main thing is that our fc's have a rpm range of 7000rpms after that its all redlining. So somebody please help.

Race port, half-bridge, or a full bridgeport

half bridge is really all you need.... and a nice 3"+ exhaust... its ball-bearing right? if so, that helps alot also

don't listen to these clowns. one of the baddest rx7s on this site makes a lot of streetable power on that turbo with a street port and a lot of fuel.

i wouldnt take advice from anyone who uses the term "and alot of fuel" ..so your saying the guy runs his car pig rich?!?! regardless of the port, the afr's should always stay around the same... just depending on the port, more air is able to flow into the motor, therefore allowing more fuel as well.... so saying a "streetport and a lot of fuel" is a statement made by a moron... so whos the clown now?

as stated before.... i believe the best "effecient" port for that turbo would be a half bridge..... im sure a large streetport would work, but youll get faster spool w/ a halfie.. WHICH IS WHAT THE THREAD STARTED ASKED!

I'm saying the car is a simple setup; no different than most otehr single cars on this site.

streetport, standalone, good fuel system.

i've seen N20 with the larger spl and it was awsome...so on the smaller turbo it would be a mad man. =)

If i go with a race port or a half bridge, what would my engine life span be?And how would my low to midrange power be affected?

a half bridge still has a descent low torque curve... good streetability, and a sweet idle i have a half bridge in my fc w/ a t70 turbo.. spool starts around 3500rpm.... plus i have a lightened flywheel, so if you keep the flywheel stock, it helps w/ low end torque slightly. and engine lifespan is completely up to you.... the reason ported motors dont last as long as stock motors is because the motors are abused alot more, which is why they were ported in the first place.... the more power you put through the motor, the more chance you have of blowing it prematurly... a good tune, and constant maintenacne will aid in longevity

but the benefits you get from a halfie (in my opinion) surpass the downsides...

Alright, so what would you say fuel system wise.I was thinking of changing my fuel injectors to 720 or 750cc injectors, upgrade fuel pump.Get Apexi fc system. And im getting my engine rebuilt but to standard specs,I spoke to one of the people at Mazdatrix in California, they told me it wasnt necessary to rebuild my engine to any upgrades(3mm seals etc....)that they have built many engines to standard specs and they run boost so high that engine have been fine.He told me its all about tuning the vehicle.

fuel wise..id say 850 primaries, and 1600cc secondaries.. adjusable fpr, bosch o44 fuel pump (or a tt supra unit)... if possible, switch to stainless braided fuel line and an fittings..... oem parts are recommended, but you better upgrade the stationary gears(unless yours is s5, cant remember..). i went with rx8 stationary gears.. but oem seals are more than adequate
