I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS WAS A GOOD DEAL!!!
1991 MAZDA RX7 GXL/ FULL POWER INTERIOR, SUNROOF
16 INCH CHROME WHEELS
139K ON CAR
SUPPOSEDLY 9K ON MOTOR
THE GUY SHOWED ME SOME PARTS ON THE ENGINE THAT WERE PAINTED RED, HE SAID THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO TAKE APART THE ENGINE TO DO SO!
NO SCRATCHES, I DORVE IT AND IT RUNS VERY GOOD, NO VISIBLE SMOKE/SMELL/COOLENT LEAK/OR OIL LEAK
HE WASNTS 3900, VERY NICE LOOKING CAR
IS 139K ALOT ON A RX7 MOTOR?? FOR A 1991?

Well I got my 91 GXL with 32,000 miles on it orig. everything for 4,800 about 7 months ago and the motor just blew 2 weeks ago. So really anything can happen but I would have to say to talk him down just alittle seems alot to me...

Was the engine replaced or rebuilt? If rebuilt, by who? If by a shop if should have a warranty and/or he should have paperwork. I would try to get him down to $4000, especially if the engine doesn't have a warranty or any paperwork showing a quality rebuild.

3900 is good if the rebuilt engine has only 9k on it and was a complete engine rebuild not just a partial. I got a complete engine rebuild 15.000 miles for 2300 bucks total and runs perfect. I have the reciept and oil changes. He replaced everythng except rotors and housings.. He even put in a new excentric shaft and shifter bushings , all hoses and vac lines. I wouldnt thnk my car would go for 3900. Mine is an 89GXL and would thnk I can get 3200 fair deal for it knowing its in very good condition. Talk the guy down. Im glad u told us because 3900 is way too much. I would suggest under 3000 if no reciets and 3k or slightly more if he has the reciets. Lets put it this way.. For 4000 i would want a mint condition low mileage turbo.
