Gotham racing turbo blanket temp

I just installed my gotham racing turbo blanket. How much should my eng bay temps drop? just wondering? Also how did you guys fasten it. I was thinking using wire on the tabs to hold it together.. Awsome Product..

Hey Gonzz,

I use the same type of blanket on mine. Not sure if it's the same manufacturer or not. Engine bay temps should drop drastically depending on the setup. Also, you'll notice your water and oil temps will be less likely to rise under load. They'll be easier to control. As far as tying the blanket down, I just "sit" mine on. It's not really tied down so there's evidently no need for wires on the tabs.

is your wastegate plumbed to the inside of your car??? please tell me there is a dump-pipe for it. . . to be honest, you might wanna put a heat shield on the wastegate and its dump-pipe as well. that this is bound to cause AT LEAST premature thermostat failure.

GREAT idea!! I've been tossing the idea around of having a sheet heat shield made for quite some time perhaps w/ some Thermotec heat matte stuff or whatever...

What about just wrapping the DP? This will kill a lot of the heat.

I made a dump pipe for my wastegate. Going to weld it on the V-band this weekend. My manifold is ceramic coated but might wrap it anyway...

Check out Pettit's Cool Power System (a bit pricey). It seems to be what you guys are discussing: http://www.pettitracing.com/rx7/index.htm
