Streetport on 1.7?

I've got a SP and am contemplating getting 720's and 1.7 to help with fuel.

You think it can handle it?Maybe only run 10psi?

I can't afford the 2.0 yet so this is a bandaid fix since I've already got 1.5 so it's $25 to go to 1.7.

are u really sure? If you've got money invested in your motor, I wouldnt risk it. You cant make any corrections with the 1.7. at least get a 2.0 and tune on a wideband or something.

Well. I guess it should hold pretty well.

The engine just eats more air and all the ECU does is add fuel dependant on the AFM readings. The AFM will be noticing the increased air so it will match it.

As long as the 720's don't hit their max I should be fine.
So if on stock port a 1.7 can hit 12-14psi then a streetport at 10psi may be relatively the same.

I think I'm going to run stock levels and try and borrow a wideband to see how far up I can go before it starts going lean.

I would prefer to just run 10psi still.

Got the 720's and stopped by Digital Tuning today to get my ECU redone.

I expected to just drop it off.
He kicked ass and did it on the spot for me AND i got a cool license plate frame.

^ yeah, digital tuning custumer service ROCKS! i'm not surprised they did it on the spot.

anyway, as far as the streetport goes with the rtek1.7, i don't know anyone who's done it, but i'd say to get atleast 750cc injectors as secondaries... or even upgrade to the 1.8 version instead (so that you can use 720cc primaries), just to be sure that fuel compensates for the extra air...

I am planning on useing the 1.7 on a streetported 87 T2 block. I don't plan on running anymore than 10 pounds. If anyone has run a similar setup please chime in.
