Having a Full respray with glass out?

The FD's in for a full re-spray in a couple of weeks, The paintshop thats doing the work are taking the body kit off and the glass OUT? They have asked me to find out if the w-screen trim (rubber)(and the rear glass trim) is available seperate from the glass? (Please say yes) they did say with some cars that the trim comes with the glass only :-(

Well, it will make for cleaner paint lines if they take everything out to paint it seperately, but thats just what they did in my buddies' paint shop, and they repaint ferraries and such, so it doesnt matter what he says . I've seen paint jobs that shoot over the rubber just a little ways and it ends up cracking off the paint right at the rubber seal.

It supposedly makes things easier to spray. I usually have the glass out when all my cars are sprayed

Im sorry but profesional painters are not retards, and when they paint, the glass does come out. Im not sure how good these guys are but in any high end paint job, the body man will take out the glass for the painter. As my father has two classsic corvettes that are fully restored, all glass (every pane) came out for paint. Yes you can mask it off but if you want it done right the first time it come out.

Yes, you could buy it without buying the glass. It is a much better when you take out the glass and moldings.
