Professional Polisher.
As it says I am looking for a place to have a wheel polished professionally in the Ottawa area. I have a set of three polished GXL rims and cant find another polished one for a reasonable price (left side). The local guy (Doug at Rx-7 heaven) told me he could get me one, for the 'reasonable' price of $175. A good deal he says, they are 750 new. Jackass. So i have decided to go this route and have a unpolished one polished.
Let me know. OR if you have a rim for a decent price, in this area, let me know also. Thanks.

Got one for you
I got all my GSL-SE wheels refinished to factory original this spring. Contrary to what you hear elsewhere, this is not a cheap proposition - so be forewarned.
There is a guy in Stittsville that will do them (Alloy Wheel Repair 836-2300).
The place I brought mine is "Deals for Wheels" on 4119 Belgreen (ph. 247-1053). This is just off Hawthorne Rd not far from Princess Auto. The guy you want to talk to will probably answer the phone - his name is Mony. They send them to a place in Montreal that apparently basically does all the factory refinishes for all the dealers. My rims (of which one had a chunk out of the edge) were $130 each. I'm told the guy in Stittsville runs about $10 cheaper. I was satisfied with the job and this guy Mony is good to deal with. There is a one year guarantee. The guys from Montreal pick up a couple of times a weeks, so depending on your timing, you could have the rim back in anywhere between 2 1/2 days to 6 days.
One caution - the clearcoat is soft for some time. I wanted to get my FB aligned and can't as the clamps will dig into the clearcoat. Apparently it takes literally a few months to completely harden (they don't tell you this).
NFS05 - (Jason) drives by the area every day as do I, if you would need directions.

The place they send them to is on the south shore of Montreal, and is called P. Jacques. We had my Mom's Volvo wheels refinished there - cost $90 a piece.
Oh, and stop talking to Doug.

Ok thanks guys, guess its not as 'cheap' as I thought. I was told it would be around $60 maybe. Maybe I will try to attempt this myself. Would it ber the same as the numerous other posts about polishing manifolds?
Yeah I know about Doug. I try to stay away from him like the plague, but what were my choices really?
For those who arent busy wednesday in Ottawa. Would you like to come giving me a hand trying to get my car running nice before the show wednesday? Nik has already volunteered and will be comming over around 2, then off to the show after (maybe eat first). Let me know.
