I picked up my 1st 1st gen today.
I was buying some ground wire at a stereo shop and a guy asked of the FC outside was mine. I said 'yes'. He asked if I wanted a 1st gen. I said 'not really'. But then he made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I will be picking it up as soon as I can arrange a tow truck.

The garage was the only stipulation I made when I moved back home. The agreement is they get a pathway to walk through and the rest is mine. Trust me my old man is spending my money before I earn it. He plans on retiring the day after I'm called to the Bar.

Sweet
FBs rock.... (I love being biased because I have one)....
They're SO easy to work on, especially the carbed ones. Once you've tinkered in the engine bay of a nice 12a, you'll wonder why you ever bothered with that EFI BS. Sure it burns a bit more gas, kills a few more trees, and doesn't give you precise ignition and fuel maps.... but they're fun little cars, and you can squeeze quite a bit out of them. And they're not as ugly as FCs

Sorry folks I should have reported back. I wasn't able to check it out properly the frist time I saw the car. The car was a 84 GS, grey exterior with burgundy interior. I went back with Rotoryrocket1 to check it out and it looked good until we saw some significant frame rot at the steering rack mount on the passenger side. It would have needed extensive repair before being safe so I decided to pass. Unfortunatey I think the car is now in the big parking lot in the sky.

Thats sucks. Another nice 1st gen goes to the bone yard due to rust. I personally had to send one off, and trust me, its not easy seeing such a rare car going to the crusher (car was pretty much stripped). If you had the room, you should have got it for the parts it had.
